I looked over at Jimin who was currently in a fit of laughs, reacting to something that V had just told him. I smiled at his laugh. It reminded me of the good times I shared with him. I couldn't have asked for a better best friend...

-Flashback-

I gulped, looking through the window of my new classroom. There were so many students in there and it scared me to death. Shaking my head, I took a few steps back.

"Hey, hey, hey. What are you doing?" my granddad spoke.

"I- I can't go in there. There's too many people. A-and what if I forget my Korean."

"You won't. You're practically fluent. They're only kids, Brianna. They won't bite."

I turned my head to look through the window again. My heart thudded a thousand times in my chest.

"I can't do it," I mumbled. I looked down at my fingers as I twiddled with them.

"Chin up," he told me, bending down to reach my much smaller level. "You'll be fine. Who wouldn't fall for those pink hairpins anyways?"

A small smile came onto my face as I touched my pins. My grandparents had given them to me when my dad died to help me overcome my sadness. They told me that whenever I wore them he would be there with me.The pins were my lucky charm.

"Now go in there and make me smile."

I gave him one last kiss on the cheek before entering the classroom.

.....................................................

"Guys. Quieten down," the teacher ordered. I was stood by her side facing the big class feeling very nervous. "We have a new student joining us. Do you want to introduce yourself?"

I gulped but nodded my head.

"My name is Bri..." I said quietly. With every word I uttered my eyes scanned the room. "I'm from Texas but moved to live in Busan with my grandparents..."

I saw as some of the kids mumbled and whispered amongst each other. That unsettled my nerves.

"And what's something you like to do?" my teacher brightly asked with a smile.

"Well I..." I suddenly felt shy but remembered what my granddad had told me before he left. They don't bite. "I dance... And I do gymnastics."

"Oh wow," the teacher smiled. "That's amazing. Maybe you could show the class someday. But for now let's get to learning!" The students groaned but began taking there books down. "Sit anywhere."

Nodding, I nibbled on my bottom lip and slowly sat down near a group of girls.

"Hi," I greeted politely with a smile. They only looked me up and down before silently giggling with each other.

"Yah! Stop laughing at the new girl," someone said.

"It's funny how a westerner is joining us. Never had one of those before."

I looked down as I clung hold of my backpack, the sound of girls' laughter filling my ears.

"So?" the mystery girl continued. I was happy at least one person was defending me.

"So what? We can do whatever we want." The mean girl I was sitting next to then turned to face me again. "What's that pink stuff in your hair?"
