Me and Sam got home, chatting about our day. We didn't stay mad at each other, ever. We figured we'd just let each other chill out, and talk later.

"So, you meet any friends?" I asked. Me and Sam had two classes together. Which, wasn't a lot. Our new school doesn't have many people, and there's eight classes. We have science and advisory. Advisory was basically a study hall, minus the studying.

"Yeah. I met a guy named Pete. And a few more guys. Ya know, I think after what happened at our last school, this place is a good place for us." I nodded in agreement, and looked at the bus window. "Can you do something to someone?" He asks. I chuckled, and looked around. I didn't see anyone I knew. Well, I saw Ava, but didn't want to exactly mess with her.

"Hmmm," I hummed, and looked at the guy in front of us. He was working on his homework.

I focused on his window, and made it slide down. He jumped, his pencil sliding on the paper. I made the paper and pencil fall to the ground, and the pencil roll back to me.

He searched the floor for his pencil as me and Sam giggled. I handed Sam the pencil. He tapped the boy in front of us on the shoulder. He spun around, and Sam handed him the pencil. He snatched it, rudely said thanks, and stuffed all his stuff into his bag. We high fived, and smiled.

We both were upstairs, working on homework on our desks in our rooms. Jaime thinks we should work up here, so she didn't accidentally distract us.

I had my headphones in, listening to 'Demons' by... by whoever it was.

Darling I love you, but, you love your demons more, then you could ever love me.

I'm watching a slow motion, accident. There's enough time to look, but not react.

Without realizing it, I hummed the beat. Sam had his headphones in as well, so it didn't bother him.

Make me understand, this is not a demand, but I just don't know what else to do!

I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I jumped. I took my headphones out, and turned. Jaime stood there, and looked kind of happy.

"It's almost five. You want to go out to eat?" She asks. I smiled, and nodded. I ripped Sam's headphones out, and tugged him to his feet. He groaned.

"Can I at least finish my homework?" He snapped. I shook my head.

"Come on, Sam, let's go."

"I'm not going-"

"Sam!" I snapped. He groaned, and slammed his chair into his desk.

"Fine, I'll go so you can play house with your perfect mother," he yelled. He stormed downstairs.

"I'm sorry, Jaime... he just can't get used to the fact that mom..."

"No, no, I get it. He just needs time to adjust. I'll give him all the time he needs," she said. I smiled lightly in sympathy, and nodded.

"You still wanna go?" I asked. She shook her head, and looked down.

"I'll make you two dinner and head to bed," she says. I nodded, and watched her walk out of the room.

I felt bad. Sam just... I wish he could just accept she wasn't coming back for him. Not for him, and not for me.
