After it was nine, and we had gone through the first, and part of the second season, his mom came up to check on us. His mom had the 'door open' rule, and I don't blame her.
She came in, and looked at what we were watching. She shook her head, chuckling.
"Raylin, your mom just called. She told me to tell you to come home," she says. I nodded, and pulled away from Justin. He frowned, and gave his mom a look. She smiled, shook her head, and walked out.
He pulled me closer, and connected our lips. I smiled, and reluctantly pulled away.
"Text me later, ok?" He says, running a hand down my face gently. "And I promise it'll be ok with Sam. He won't hate you."
"I hope you're right.." I sighed. He gave me a smile, and gave me another quick kiss that made my heart fly from my chest.
"Want me to walk you home?" He asks. I shook my head.
"See ya," I said. He nods, and hugs me once more. I felt him kiss my cheek, and pull away. He ran a hand down my cheek.
"You're really pretty," he remarks, a goofy smile on his face. I could feel a blush on my face as I searched my brain for something to say. He smiled, and kissed my lips again. "I promise it'll be ok. I promise."
"I better go," I say, and hug him. He nods, and kissed my lips one more time. He held my hand as I walked out, and until I left his room.
Minutes later, I was walking on the street. I shook my head. My life isn't about romance. I didn't need that extra drama. Not with everything else happening.
I slowly walked inside, and shut the door. I didn't see Sam, or Jaime.
I walked up the stairs, and tip toed to my room.
Sam was sleeping, so I quietly got changed for bed, and climbed my ladder. I laid in bed for a few minutes.
"Raylin?" I heard Sam's voice. I froze, not knowing what to do. "Can you come down here for a minute and sit with me?" I must have taken too long to reply, because he said, "please?"
I sighed, and plugged in my headphones. I couldn't talk to him. Not yet.
The rest of the night, I slept peacefully. I figured listening to music could make me forget easier. It kinda did.

I set my alarm earlier then normal, so I could avoid Sam. I still didn't have the guts to even see him. And not talking to him last night, even after hearing him say "please".
I sighed, and got ready. I headed downstairs, and saw Jaime.
"Raylin, sit," she says. I gave her a confused look. She normally got up later in the morning. "Hehe, I figured you'd be up earlier. Now come on, sit down and have a donut. Well, one that I haven't eaten." I smiled, and sat down.
"What's up?"
"Well, I know how hard it's going to be with Sam and all. But I talked to him, and he wants to talk to you. He's an emotional wreck."
"I'll welcome him to the club," I say, taking a glazed donut from the box. I bit into it, and she lets out a small, forced smile.
"Just talk to him, alright? I'm going to be home late today." I sighed, and watched her stand. She smiled, and walked back into her room.
I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, and plugged my headphones in.
