PROLOGUE

QUEEN'S POINT OF VIEW

From the tree where I was standing, I could clearly see the joy on their faces, everyone's happy smiles were engraved. Their laughter was beautiful to my ears. Mga yakap na sa bawat lapat at haplos nang kanilang mga katawan na masarap damhin at lasapin. Mga matang nagpapakita ng totoo nilang naramdaman na tila nakikitawa rin sa kanilang kasiyahan. I felt a slight twinge of envy at what I saw, and a bitter smile formed on my lips without me realizing it.

What they are doing is something I haven't experienced since becoming queen. After my parents died, everything I do has its limits. When I was young, I wasn't free to explore without their consent. My parents were so protective that it was almost suffocating me.

I never left without a soldier or servant, even inside the palace gates, they always guarded me. That's why I always envied the children I saw outside the palace, free to do whatever they wanted, like playing with their fellow children.

I also want to experience the things they do, to experience being a normal young woman with no one watching over me, with no one always following me—

"Your Majesty... I apologize to interrupt you but we need to return to the palace..." From my shoulder, I looked at her.

"Your Majesty—"

"Serena" I softly whispered her name as if carried by the wind.

"How does it feel to study... here?" Mabini kung tanong habang nakatanaw sa Academy.

"Hindi ba't... Nakapag aral ka sa isang magandang paaralan?"

As I recall, she graduated from a high and stable school with an excellent background before she was assigned to the Royal Palace and became my Personal Assistant. Kaya may karanasan siya sa ganitong bagay, hindi tulad sa akin.

Since I was a child, I have never experienced stepping foot in an academy. I don't know what it's like to study in such a large and powerful school. All I can do is watch, sadly dreaming,  feeling envy and ignorance compared to the children I see outside the palace.

I know everything from Royal Politics, Diplomacy, Defense Magic, and the Principles of Queenship. From the Royal Teacher who must teach what needs to be learned as a Queen.

"Pardon, Your Majesty?" She sounds surprised, umikot ako pahirap at tinignan siya.

"Tell me... How does it feel being a student?" I want to know about her past experience.

"How are you as a student?"
