"yah why do you keep making mistakes!? this choreography is so simple!" guan lin heard a loud yell coming from one of the practice rooms in cube entertainment while he was passing by with seonho.

curious, he peeked into the room through the half-opened door to see katie, one of his close friend as trainees in cube, getting scolded and yelled at by one of their fellow trainee.

to be honest, he had a small crush on katie. she was a really nice girl, she was shy and innocent which makes guan lin want to protect her.

"hyung! isn't that katie?" seonho whispered to guan lin.

"yeah," guan lin replied as he furrowed his eyebrows and clenched his fist, watching katie looking at the ground timdly as the other trainee continued talking about how horrible katie was and how she should just leave the company.

"yah!" guan lin yelled as he entered the room before seonho could stop him, he couldn't take it anymore.

"why are you scolding her like this? can't you just tell her what she did wrong nicely?" guan lin said in a stern voice.

"i tried telling her nicely but she's so dumb she can't get anything right!" the trainee glared at katie in annoyance.

"what did you say?" guan lin raised his voice as if he was ready to start a fight.

"guan lin let's just go," katie said in a pleading voice before she and seonho dragged guan lin out of the room.

"why did you drag me out? did you see how rude she was? she insulted you! can you not let people bully you so easily?" guan lin frowned.

"that's my problem whether i get bullied or not! just stay out of my buisness!" katie said with an exasperated sigh before turning away and running off before guan lin could hold her back.

"what did i do wrong? is it wrong to care and stand up for someone i like?" guan lin sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"wait what? you like katie?" seonho's eyes widened. guan lin didn't even bother to deny already.

"you should go chase after her and comfort her or something, but stay calm. you should confess your feelings to her!! i got a feeling she likes you too," seonho suddenly got excited.

"didn't you see how mad she eas eariler? and you want me to confess to her?" guan lin hung his head low.

"katie's an extremely soft person! just go apologise and be extra sweet to her. she will definitely accept you! gosh this is like a kdrama!!" seonho winked at guan lin.

guan lin thought about what seonho said before deciding to just listen to what seonho said and ran off to find katie.

he searched the entire level of the building before finally finding katie in one of the deserted practice room. she was sitting on the ground with her hands hugging her legs and her head hanging low.

guan lin opened the door to the practice room and walked in to sit beside katie softly.

"i'm sorry," he said in a small voice.

katie didn't respond as she continued staring at the ground like a statue.

"i...i...just didn't want you to get bullied or hurt, i can't stop myself from wanting to protect you," guan lin continued.

katie still didn't respond.

"i didn't know when i started feeling this way but... i really wanted to be the one who can protect you, care for you, and make you happy," guan lin blurted out.

katie finally lifted up her head to reveal her tear-stained face. guan lin could hear his heart break at the sight of how broken katie looked. that made him want to hug her and keep her away fron anything bad in the world.

"i'm sorry... i shouldn't have raised my voice at you, i... i just didn't want you to get into any trouble," katie bit down on her lips gently.

she slowly turned to face guan lin before wrapping her arms around him tightly and burying her face into the crook of his neck. guan lin immediately hugged her back while caressing her hair gently.

"i think i've fallen for you, big time," guan lin whispered into katie's ears.

katie felt her heart flutter as her lips formed into a small smile.

"me too."
