yeonmi stepped into her school gates, grabbing onto her hand bag tightly as a small smile formed on her face.

"i'm so excited!!" eunbin, yeonmi's best friend, exclaimed as she tugged onto yeonmi's arm.

it was today, their prom night.

yeonmi couldn't believe she was already graduating from her high school. and she couldn't believe her date for this very special night was kang daniel.

yeonmi had always had a small crush on daniel even though they were really good friends.

"yeomi!! daniel's walking to you!" eunbin suddenly whispered shouted to yeonmi.

yeonmi gasped softly as she looked up to see daniel walking towards their direction with a huge smile plastered on his face, she turned to eunbin and quickly arranged her hair.

"do i look okay?" she asked eunbin worriedly.

"yeah you look stunning yeonmi," eunbin winked at yeonmi and before she could say anything else, daniel was already right in front of them.

"hello yeonmiii~" daniel smiled as he slung his arms around yeonmi's neck.

"i'll take yeonmi now, eunbin," daniel winked at eunbin who nodded her head with a grin and showed an 'okay' sign to daniel.

"you look beautiful today shin yeonmi," daniel whispered into yeonmi's ears as they walked together up to the school hall.

yeonmi wore a simple navy blue sleeveless dress that ended slightly above her knees and her brownish red hair was left lying on her shoulders.

yeonmi blushed as she elbowed daniel's chest and pushed him away from her.

"yah! i just complimented you and is this how you say thank you? plus aren't you going to compliment me back?" daniel teased yeonmi with a small smirk on his face.

yeonmi stopped and turned to look at daniel, she hadn't had a good look at her date since they met due to the darkness. she felt her jaw drop a little as she took in the sight in front of her.

daniel was wearing a sleek black tuxedo and his blonde hair was gelled lightly, small strands falling down his face, making him look super hot. [a/n suPER hoT she's super hot!! NA NA NA NA NA NA. p.s. daniel looks exactly like his open up stage lol i suck at descriptions]

"you look horrible," yeonmi teased daniel.

"yah yah shin yeonmi!! i dressed up nicely all for you!!" daniel whined as he tugged onto yeonmi's hand and pouted like an adorable 3 year old.

"fine fine, you look really good. happy?" yeonmi chuckled. well, she wasn't actually lying, he really looked good.

the night continued with the both of them bickering and teasing each other while hanging around with their friends and eunbin and her date, seongwoo. [sry i lowkey ship ongniel]

the only thing was that daniel tightly held onto yeonmi's hand throughout the whole night.

"why do you keep holding onto my hand?" yeonmi finally asked daniel.

"i don't know, i don't feel like letting go of you, and i don't want you to leave my side. plus, i want everyone to know that you - shin yeonmi, is my date for tonight," daniel said as he pulled yeonmi to his side and snaked his arms around yeonmi's waist.

yeonmi felt her heart race as daniel"s hands rested on her waist.

"stop it kang daniel, people might think we're dating or something," yeonmi shyly whispered to daniel.

"i don't mind, do you?" daniel smirked.

yeonmi was stunned for a moment at daniel's words.

"c'mon let's go dance," daniel said as led yeonmi to the middle of the hall where all the other couples were slow dancing together.

"yah i don't want to dance! didn't we agree to just stay around the side with eunbin and seongwoo?" yeonmi pouted as she tried pulling away from daniel.

"but i want to dance with you," daniel winked before wrapping both his hands around yeonmi's waist. yeonmi had no choice but to go along with daniel, she sighed as she awkwardly placed her hands on daniel's arms.

the both of them started slow dancing to the music. daniel kept on staring at yeonmi but she kept avoiding eye contact with him.

"why won't you look at me shin yeonmi?" daniel whispered in his huskly voice. yeonmi felt her heart skip a beat as she nervously lifted her eyes slowly to look at daniel.

they locked eyes and yeonmi could feel her heart racing.

daniel flashed her his killer smile which melted her heart completely. yeonmi looked away as she tried hiding her blush from daniel.

"no yeonmi, continue looking at me," daniel cooed as he lifted yeonmi's chin with his fingers gently, his other hand still tightly secured around yeonmi's waist.

both of them swayed to the music together as they got lost in each other's eyes. yeonmi's hands unkowingly travelled up to daniel's shoulder as she comfortably rested her hands on his shoulders.

"i really don't know what you're doing to my heart," daniel said in a soft voice.

yeonmi could barely breath. one, because of her close proximity with daniel and two, because daniel just indirectly confessed to her.

"i.. i think i like you yeonmi," daniel continued as he bored into yeonmi's eyes, hoping she felt the same way.

"i think i like you too," yeonmi unknowingly blurted out her feelings, gripping onto daniel's tuxedo gently.

she froze as daniel came closer towards her, and both of them stopped dancing. yeonmi slowly closed her eyes just before she felt daniel's soft lips on hers.

butterflies erupted in yeonmi's tummy as their lips connected gently.

their kiss was soft, yet overflowing with passion.

after a good 10 seconds, daniel slowly pulled away as yeonmi turned a bright shade of red. she couldn't believe what just happened.

"you're really adorable yeonmi ah, and i just can't help myself but fall for you," a small smile formed on daniel's lips as he brushed yeonmi's hair away from her face before pecking her forehead lightly.
