lee seul's pov

"seul!" i felt a strong pair of arms wrap around my waist causing me to squeal as i inhaled the familiar scent of my boyfriend.

i spun around to meet daehwi who was smiling at me goofily.

i couldn't help it but smile back at him. so this is how dating feels like. well, daehwi - who was my crush since forever, confessed to me a few days ago and of course i accepted without hesitation.

"how was school?" he asked me as he interwined his fingers with mine and we walked out of the school gate.

"good, how about you?" i asked him.

"good, but i couldn't stop thinking about you," he said causing my heart to flutter.

"stop it with your sweet-talking," i said as i tried to hide my blushed cheeks from daehwi.

"you're so adorable when you're shy," he chuckled as we swung our interlocked hands back and forth gently.

"i'm nervous to meet your parents, will they like me?" daehwi suddenly said.

"they will, i'm sure about it," i smiler at him. my parents were very overprotective of me so they made me promise them that i must bring my boyfriend to meet them if i ever had one and so, daehwi and i were on our way back to my house.

soon, we were already outside my house and daehwi was literally having a mental breakdown.

"what if they don't like how i look? what if they don't want me to be with you? what if...what if they - " i stopped daehwi and his blabberings as i held his hands and leaned in to give him a peck on his cheeks. he stopped talking immediately a blushed a bright shade of red.

"they won't alright? they will like you for sure, stop worrying," i smiled at him. he nodded his head and i opened the door, pulling him into my house.

"eomma! appa! i'm home!" i shouted and my parents rushed out with a bright smile.

"seul! you're ba- " my mother's jaw dropped before she cound finish what she wanted to say.

"eomma, what's wrong?" i asked worriedly.

"d...daehwi is your boyfriend?" my mother asked.

"yeah, he is. how did you know his name?" i replied.

my mother ran her hands through her hair before letting out an exasperated sigh.

"seul, i need to talk to you," was all she said before walking into her room.

i could feel daehwi's palms sweating profusely as he held onto my hand.

"what's going on?" he asked worriedly.

"everything's gonna' be okay, let me go talk to my mum and ask her what's wrong," i gave him a weak smile before i released his hands and followed my mother into the room.

she was sitting at the edge of my bed, looking distressed. i gripped onto my uniform skirt before walking closer to her.

"eomma, what's wrong?" i asked.

"you can't date daehwi," she said in a monotonous voice.

"what? why??" i raised my voice a little.

"you just can't!" she sighed.

i crossed my arms over my chest. my mum had never been so unreasonable before, there must be something that's bothering her.

"but why? i really like daehwi and he's a super nice guy so why not?" i fought back.

"b-because he's your half brother!" my mum finally said.

my jaw dropped and my hands fell to my sides.

"w...what? what are you talking about?" i asked my mother in utter confusion.

"daehwi is the son your father had with his previous wife," my mother said in a small voice.

the door creaked open slightly and revealed daehwi standing behind the door, dumbfounded.

before any of us could say anything, he turned away and ran away.

"d-daehwi!" i shouted, trying to chase after him but he already ran out of my house.

the next two days, daehwi has been avoiding him. i texted and called him countless on time but he just didn't reply.

i tried looking for him in school but it was hard to find him because he was he was a grade higher than me and he was obviously avoiding me.

i saw him once or twice but i just didn't have the chance to go and talk to him.

that day after school, i finally found him sitting alone on the bench at the park near our school.

slowly, i crept up behind him and sat down beside him. he lifted his head and his eyes widened a little when he saw me.

"daehwi, why are you avoiding me?" i asked him softly while he avoided my eye contact.

"don't you know the reason why?" he replied.

i bit down on my lips as my fingers played with the hem of my skirt.

"i know, but why do you have to avoid me?" i asked.

his pale face turned to look at me.

"i don't know how to face you, we literally were dating for 3 days and suddenly we found out we...we were half-siblings," he sighed.

we both stayed quiet for a while.

"but i really really like you seul, i...i just wanted us to be something more," he finally said.

"what are we now?" i asked softly as i turned to look at him in the eyes.

i just felt so lost. i didn't know what to do.

"i don't know honestly," he sighed once again. i lifted my hand and interwined my fingers with his.

"but no matter what, promise me you won't leave me," i search his eyes for any response.

"i won't, i'll never," he whispered before pulling me into a hug.

i wrapped my hands around him tightly as he gently stroke my hair.

no matter being siblings or not, all i wanted now was daehwi to be with me. because i realised i couldn't live without him.

he kissed my forehead and i snuggled deeper into his embrace.
