"okay it's free time now guys, you all can roam around this campsite freely but make sure to stay clear from any deep waters or wander into forests around here. all of you are to be back my 8.15 pm and gather here understood?" our camp facilitator told us.

"nae!" the crowd of students excitedly responded, all except me.

we were on a school camp trip at some deserted campsite far away from the bustling city. everyone dispatched to roam around with their friends, however, i was left alone. as usual. but i didn't really mind. well i was sort of anti-social and stuff, not that i completely didn't have any friends, i have a couple actually but we were in different groups so we were at different campsites. initally, i really didn't want to come but this camp was compulsory. ugh.

nevertheless, i was quite a nature person so i decided to just roam around nearby alone. but i started wandering further and further but i kept telling myself i could keep going since it was still early. little did i know that i was slowly moving out of the campsite into an unfamiliar place.

i started getting a little panicky as there wasn't even a single human in sight. plus, the sky was getting grey, i could tell it was going to start raining anytime soon.

even if i started going back now, i would probably be caught in the rain. i looked down at my watch, it was only 7pm, i still had an hour more or so to go. then, a house that was a distant away caught my attention. it looked like it was a farm or something. i hesitated for a while but heavy raindrops started to pelt down.

"ugh whatever," i mummered before running towards the house as the rain got heavier.

it was a farm, a really small farm. i ran under the roof just before a lightning stroke. all of a sudden, there was loud barking. i looked down to see an adorable farm dog beside me. but the thing was that it was barking at me and trying to chase me away.

i got a little flustered, yes i do love dogs but what if that dog was a fierce one? i couldn't just run out into the rain like that if he starts chasing after me, i could get struck by the lighting and die.

"hey hey mochi what's wrong," a voice suddenly called out from inside the house. i froze. it was a human.

then, a boy that looked around my age walked out from the house as the dog, mochi - or whatever his name was, ran towards him, still barking.

the boy looked at me for a while before he bent down beside mochi.

"hush hush mochi, it's okay. go back in," the boy smiled adorably as he patted mochi and pointed towards the house. mochi followed his instructions and went back in whilst wagging his tail. gosh he was so cute, both the dog and the boy.

the boy then stood up and looked at me again.

"uhm, who are you?" he asks.

i swallowed my saliva as i averted my gaze to the ground.

"oh... uh... i... uh..." i stuttered, not knowing exactly what to say.

"how did you get here?" he asks again.

"uhm...so...well...i came on a school camp and i think i wandered to far away from the camp site... and it started pouring suddenly so i came to seek shelter. i'm so sorry if i'm intruding or disturbing you or anything," i finally said, biting down on my lips.

the boy stayed silent for a while as i prayed that he wouldn't throw me out.

"well, are you lost? from what i know, the campsite is pretty far away from here," the boy says.
