kim jaeun's pov

"jae!" i heard a voice shouting my name as i spun my head around to see my best friend - yeri, running towards me.

"guess what?" she said excitedly once she was in front of me.

"what?" i responded with a chuckle.

"jonghyun asked me to be his date to our prom!" she squealed as she tugged onto my arm.

"really?" i asked her with a huge grin, i knew yeri had a huge crush on jonghyun and i was really happy for her.

she nodded hysterically, unable to wipe out the grin that was plastered on her lips.

"how about you? are you going to prom?" she asked.

i shook my head lightly with a weak smile.

"i don't have a date," i replied.

"well... you can always take the initiative and a certain guy to be your date," she winked at me.

"what?" i asked her, pretending to have no idea what yeri was talking about.

"speaking of the devil," yeri said with a smirk as she nodded towards a certain direction.

i looked towards the direction and saw minhyun walking down the corridor with his gang of friends. he caught my eyes and smiled at me while waving his hands i blushed as i waved back at him before quickly turned my head back and glared at yeri.

"why would i ask minhyun out?" i said as if  didn't really care.

"you know it very well yourself," yeri said as she cocked up her eyebrows slightly.

i did know exactly what yeri meant.

i got to confess, i do have a crush on hwang minhyun - our school's heart throb and my childhood friend although i knew extremely well that i would never be able to end up with minhyun. he doesn't see me as anything more than a friend, he constantly tease and makes fun of me, what more could i expect? i wasn't pretty, smart or have any other good qualities.

pushing my thoughts aside, letting out a soft sigh as i followed yeri into class.

fastforward to the night of prom

"jaejae!" i lifted my head up to see an excited yeri runnng towards me through the crowd of students.

"you came!!" she said excitedly as he grabbed onto my arm.

"i only came because you begged me to," i sighed, yeri better appreciate the things i did for her. although i didn't have a date, yeri was bugging me day and night to still come for prom and i gave in to her.

"you look amazing," yeri breathed as she stared at me with bright eyes.

i wore a simple blue dress and some accessories to go on with it. i also wore a small blue and gold tiara that matched perfectly with my dress.
