Sunday morning, hindi ko muna ginising si Angelo. Instead, I was the one who prepared breakfast for all of us. I also gave the dogs' meal for the morning. Everything seemed perfect. I made the most perfect sunny side-ups, perfect toasts, perfectly cooked tocino, and sinangag.

Bumalik na si daddy mula sa jogging niya. It was always his morning routine ever since. "Wow, ikaw ba talaga ang gumawa nito lahat? As far as I know, bihira kang magluto ng breakfast sa umaga kapag may pasok, kaya nagpapabili ka na lang pagdating sa office mo." He laughed.

"Daddy, I don't know if you're thankful or insulting me. Of course! I still know how to make breakfast! Kain na po tayo! I'll just wake Angelo up." I smiled.

I paused in the middle of the staircase kasi nakita ko na rin naman si Angelo na lumabas ng kwarto. He's rubbing his eyes and looks sleepy. "Let's eat, Angelo. Come down here. I made breakfast." He smiled and yawned.

Sabay na kaming bumaba para pumunta sa dining table. Daddy's finishing a glass of water before he eats everything on his plate. Daddy's a big-eater, but everything's balanced.

"Good morning, little boy! How's your sleep?" Daddy asked.

"Daddy, ako hindi mo tinanong ng ganyan eh."

"Because I'm sure you slept fine. You even made breakfast, tatanungin pa ba kita anak?" Dad let out a hearty laugh.

"Ayos lang po Papa Lui. Ang lamig po sa kwarto." Giniginaw ang bata at hinaplos ang magkabilang braso niya.

Lahat na kami ay nakaupo sa hapag at kumakain na.
"So, Marie, kailan mo balak ienroll sa school si Angelo?"

Napatingin ako kay daddy. "Probably next year. So he won't have a hard time to cope up with--"

"I think you can enroll him now. Angelo's a fast learner. I'm pretty sure, he'd ace his exams and homework. Are you afraid of spending? Fine, ako magbabayad sa tuition fee ng apo ko. I want to enroll him tomorrow morning." Sunud-sunod na sabi ni daddy. Well, he's Luigi Romero. If he wants it, he'll push it until it's done.

I cleared my throat. "O-okay.."

"Ano po ang school? Ano po ang enroll?" Tanong naman ng bata.

"Grandson, doon sa school, you'll get to study and be friends with other kids. You can even play there. May teacher doon, and he or she will be the one in-charge of teaching you everything you need. Enroll, we'll have you be registered in a school so you can take classes. Clear now?"

"Ah.. okay po. Pero wala pong kasama si mommy kapag--"

"No, no hijo. Your mom's a busy woman, it will be fine for her. We'll go to a school tomorrow, okay?"

The boy nodded. "Daddy.. he doesn't have any legal documents yet."

Dad signaled me by his hand to stop and he smiled. "Don't worry, hija. By tomorrow morning, maaayos rin lahat ito. What are connections for?"

I shrugged. Well, he's dad. Ganyan talaga siya.

After I ate, I excused myself. Kumakain pa si daddy at Angelo, at naguusap pa sila. That made their eating time longer.

I sneaked in to dad's room. Kumuha ako ng buhok na nasa brush niya, at nilagay ko iyon sa clear na plastic with zip lock. Pumunta naman ako sa tinulugan ni Angelo, and luckily I found a few hairs on his pillow and put it in a separate plastic. Nilagyan ko ng markang D and isa at A naman sa isa. Tinago ko ito sa drawer ko at pumunta na ako ng bathroom para makaligo agad.
