SIX Letter and Books
Halloween was soon, and itseemed to be similar to their everyday activities — the magic, the muggle-abnormality of their creatures and more, every day was practically Halloween.
It had been a few weeks since the first Quidditch game, and what seemed to be getting the air knocked out of Aurora by Chester.
When the owls swooped into the Great Hall, Aurora lifted her head from her hand as an owl dropped a note before her.
Aurora smiled at the sight of her mother's name, and she opened the envelope.
My Dear Aurora,
How is Hogwarts? I can't believe it's already been a month since I last saw you.
I wanted to see how you are doing, but unfortunately, I come with bad news.
Last week, we were evicted. The house is no longer ours. We had to pack up and stay at a hotel for the night, and we plan to go house-hunting today.
I'm telling you this because it may be a while before we find a new home. We are low on money, and are having to work full-time to earn more.
When you come back for break, you will go and stay with James. I've spoken to Aunt Euphemia, and said she will watch over you until we get back. I know break is only a few weeks away, and I know there's usually a fall-dance. So, I've delivered you a beautiful dress that used to be your grandmother's.
I love you with all of my heart.
Love, Mum
Aurora placed the letter down on the table, untying the string on the recently-dropped package before her.
Yanking the blue string off, she lifted the lid to the box, pulling out a fall orange dress.
Lily appeared, sitting down across from Aurora.
"That's beautiful!" She said.
"It was my grandmum's." She said, placing it back into the box. "It's for the fall dance — if I go."
Lily's eyes met hers. "You should go, you'd have fun."
Aurora's eyes were focused on Chester — who sat a few spots down from the two; speaking and looking at Aurora at the same time.
