EIGHT FALL DANCE
HOGWARTS' HALLWAYS WERE lit by multiple candles that lead into the now-empty Great Hall.
It was crowded with students, all dressed neatly. The ceiling sparkled, and the walls seemed to be decorated in soft colors for the night.
Aurora spent time getting ready, her long, dark brown hair taking forever to curl. But once she was finished, she pulled on her dress, examining herself in the mirror.
Despite the ugly bandage that was wrapped around her severely sprained wrist — after telling Pamfrey she'd live without the painful healing from magic, she allowed her to keep it the way it was — she looked decent.
Lily walked in, wearing a dark green dress. Her red hair was pinned up half way, the rest falling down her back.
"Lily, you look amazing," Aurora said.
Lily smiled. "So do you, that dress brings out your eyes, honestly."
Aurora smiled. "Thank you."
She inhaled. "I'm nervous."
Furrowing her brows, she asked. "Why are you nervous?"
Lily glanced at her. "Did James not tell you that he asked me to go with him tonight?"
She shook her head. "No, but you shouldn't be nervous. James'll take care of you."
She smiled.
Aurora sighed. "Well, let's get this bloody dance over with."
They hurried down the stairs, and down the hallways that lead them to the Great Hall.
Once they walked in, multiple students stared directly at Aurora. She stared back, prying her eyes away to see her friends.
James trotted towards Lily, taking her hand in his.
"You look beautiful, Lily." He told her.
Lily — red in the face, smiled. "Thank you."
Sirius's curly hair that was usually flowing freely, was combed back and tucked behind his ears. His eyes seemed more vibrant in the dim lights as they focused on Aurora.
"Wow, Padfoot." She teased. "I've never seen you so dashing."
Peter appeared, his blonde hair still trying to hide his abnormally large ears. He smiled a big-toothy grin; nudging Sirius's arm.
