SEVEN
Halloween

Halloween arrived, and it brought the cold weather with it.

Hogwarts' halls were now dark, being lit with orange candles. Harmless bats swarmed the air just below the ceilings, and casted witches flew around on their brooms, laughing as they went.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth years had an assignment on the school grounds with their Care of Magical Creatures Professor.

Aurora — who was still cold as she walked towards the edge of the forbidden forest, shoved her hands into her black pants. Her Gryffindor tucked into them, and her scarf tied around her neck.

Lily hurried to catch up with her, and they locked their arms together.

"Did you hear?"

"Hear what?" Aurora asked, her brows furrowing.

"That Chester asked Jessa Griswald to the fall dance." Lily explained. "His friends are saying it's to upset you."

Aurora only chuckled. "I'm definitely not upset."

Lily smirked. "Oh, I know. I just find it funny he thinks he can get to someone as strong as you with something like that."

She shrugged.

Arriving to the rest of the group, their Professor, Silvanus Kettleburn.

"Gather up." He announced. Aurora and Lilt squeezed in, eventually finding themselves squished between the Marauders.

"Today, we're going to take a small challenge, fifth years. Sixth years, I want a three paragraphed essay stat on the basic safety of owning a dragon — go."

Aurora stood in line, waiting for her turn on the little examination.

As she looked around, she noticed Chester; who was staring directly at her. He was standing with his friends, and they all began sniggering.

Aurora crossed her arms over her chest, shivering. She was tempted to cast a spell for his mouth to stay zipped shut.

Her focused was broken slightly as Remus moved to stand before her. His hair was still untidy as usual, and he was beginning to grow a mustache and beard.

"Chester at it again?" He asked her.

"Apparently he asked a girl to the dance to try to make me mad. It's not working, though. . . But do you think I could cast a spell to close his mouth without Professor Kettleburn seeing?"

Remus grabbed her jacket, leaving Aurora's heart to race.

"It —" he began zipping her jacket up her torso, and over her chest. "Is his loss."

Aurora stared up at him, examining his fading scratches. He sent her a smile, looking back at the Professor.

"Miss Potter?"

Remus placed a hand to her back. "Good luck."

As she moved towards the table where Professor stood, she looked up at him.
