It's been a month and I was at the hospital. Today was the day I get a ultrasound. Marshall had dropped me off and was coming me with me. Marshall held my hand as we walked in. We walked to the lady at the desk, "Um, I'm here to see Dr. Rose", "Name?", "Grace Shep". "Sit in the waiting room and Dr. Rose will see you soon". "Okay". Me and Marshall sat down.
In a minute, Dr. Rose got us. She led us to a room. "Hop on the chair and well get started". I obeyed, I sat on the leather chair. Marshall had a chair next to me. I held onto his hand. I rubbed his finger over mine. Marshall could always calm me down. "I'm gonna put this gel on your stomach. It might be a little bit cold". "Okay", I said. She pulled my top up and put the gel on my stomach.
Little bit cold my ass. It was fucking freezing. The coldness of the gel on my tummy, went out my mind, once I saw the screen. "Would you like to know the gender of the baby?", I looked at Marshall he nodded, "Yes please", I said. "Miss Shep and Mr. Mathers, you will be having a baby boy". I looked at Marshall, he had the biggest smile ever. I was smiling to, but his smile was so big. I looked back at the screen, my baby boy looked so cute.
We left the hospital and we were in the car. Marshall and I were looking at the photos. I can't believe I'm having a baby boy. "I'm so happy babe", "Me too Marshy". Marshall still had a massive smile, it looked painted on. I was grinning. I put the photos back in the envelope and Marshall drove us home.
We pulled up in Marshall's driveway. He parked the car and we got out. We held grinned and held hands. Marshall opened the door for me. I walked inside, Marshall walked in after me and closed the door.
I walked into the lounge, "How'd it go?", Hailie asked, sitting up. "It went good. Wanna see the photos?", I asked. "Yes", Hailie said, excitedly. I pulled the photos out of the envelope and showed them to Hailie. "He's so cute", Hailie squealed. "I know right". Hailie handed the photos back and I tucked them back into the envelope.
"Where's Whit?", I asked. "Gone to a friend's house". "That's right", I said, I remembered Whit telling me this morning about going to her friend's house. "How 'bout Laney", "Either studying or asleep". I laughed lightly. I used to want to be like that, a smart girl who was pretty. "I'll be back in a minute", "Okay". I got off the couch and went upstairs.
I went into Marshall's room. Marshall was on his bed, flicking through a book. "What's that?", I asked, closing the door quietly behind me. "Photo album", "Cool". I went to the bed and sat next to Marshall. I rested my head on his shoulder, looking at the photos. One was labeled, 'Hai Hai, Laney and Whit'. It looked like young versions of the girls.
Marshall turned the page. It had photos of Marshall and Proof, some of them were labeled, 'Slim and Proof', or 'Me and Doody'. A smile made it's way to my lips, I looked up at Marshall. A tear was falling down his cheek. "Oh Marshy", I said, wiping his tear of his face. "I miss him", Marshall said, more tears falling down his face. I hugged him, I felt his tears fall on my shoulder.
I kept hugging Marshall, 'til I felt no more tears. I pulled away from our hug. Marshall's face was wet, but no more tears fell down his face. I took the photo album off Marshall, closed it and placed it on the bed. I hugged Marshall again and gave him a soft kiss.
"Thanks babe, you're always there for me", "And you're always there for me", I said, giving Marshall another kiss. "Babe, you're the best girl I'll ever have", "And you're the best man I'll ever have", I said, touching our foreheads together.
"One day, you'll be mine and only mine", "What?", I asked. "Marshy, are you proposing?". "I guess I am. So, Grace Shep, will you marry me and be my girl?", "Yes! Yes I will Marshy". Tears rolled down my face and I hugged Marshall tightly. "Then, you'll be mine and only mine", Marshall whispered in my ear. "And you'll be only mine". "I promise to always love you", "I promise to forever love you too". A smile made it's way to my lips.
I can't believe I'm gonna marry Marshall Mathers.
