Siya's Pov
After Kanishk left for his office I planned on meeting Amayra, my best friend at CCD. After ordering I spotted Amayra walking toward me.
"Why the hell have you called me here for?" She asks as soon as sitting in her place. "You should be spending time with your husband right now not with me." She says and I roll my eyes. As if I don't want the same thing.
"I know, but that husband of mine is a workaholic and is off to work and I was free so I called you up." I tell as she gives me a 'what-the-hell' look.
"Seriously? See, that's why I told you to do love marriage, I always knew this arranged marriage crap will be a headache."
"It's not like that Amayra, maybe he wants to finish off all his work so he can take time later for our honeymoon?!" I tell her and half convince myself that it must be why Kanishk went to the office today.
"Who are you trying to fool here babe?" She asks.
I sigh and lean on the table. "Come on now, he is not that bad," I say and she chuckles.
"Yeah right, he just chose his work over you and you're saying he's not that bad." She tells and I smile.
"Whatever, it's not like he affects me," I say.
"Sure, sure." She says and rolls her eyes. "Maybe you two should talk it out." She advises.
"I would love to, but I doubt he will have any time for it."
"Try it and see."
"Okay, I'll talk to him."
"Good, now let's put aside Kanishk and speak about movies." She says as sips her coffee.
And just like that, I spent the rest of the afternoon with her. At around five I was back home and baby Yoda was still lazing around on the couch. He perked up and sat as soon as he saw me.
I straight away went to our bedroom. I got freshened up and decided to do some work. I should start going to the office tomorrow if I'm not going to do anything for the rest of the day.
I called Vihaan. "Hey Siya, how's married life going on?" He asks sounding tired. He was a year younger than me and a brother I never had.
"It's good so far," I answer him. "So what's going on over there?" I ask and he sighs.
"Man don't ask, Simmy Aunty and Jerry are fighting again." He says and I chuckle.
Simmy Aunty is our eldest employee, she is still good and efficient in her work while Jerry just joined our office last year. But those two can't tolerate each other at all.
"What are they fighting over this time for?" I ask.
"You won't believe it," he says sounding exasperated. "They are fighting over which pen is the best. A gel pen or an ink pen!"
I laughed out this time. "And how did it start?"
"Your dad asked for a pen and both Simmy Aunty and Jerry produced one each, your father was about to take a gel pen when Simmy Aunty suggested it's not a good pen and instead gave him a ball pen and hence this fight started." He explained and I laughed again.
"Now I regret missing office today," I say and hear a distant voice of the door closing. "Hey listen, send me all the reports from today, and all my meetings and schedules too. I'll be joining the office from tomorrow." I tell him.
"What? You're already joining? But you had postponed everything for a week, what happened?" He asks genuinely concerned.
"Nothing upsetting, just a change of plans," I say and hear his agreement.
"Okay, I'm sending you everything, bye." And the call was cut just as our bedroom door opened and Kanishk walked in looking exhausted.
"Good evening," he greeted me and before hearing my reply walked inside the washroom.
"Good evening to you too," I say in the empty room and walk out taking my laptop with me.
I walked to the living room and check the emails Vihaan sent me. I was busy working when I sensed Kanishk walking into the living room looking fresh and showered.
"What are you doing?" He asks taking baby Yoda in his lap and sitting far away from me.
"Just working," I say as he put on the tv and started watching a football match. "So how was your day?" I ask and he looks at me for a second and then back to the tv.
"Good." Just one word and he went back to watching tv.
I gritted my teeth at his behavior but ignored it and went back to watching tv. After some minutes I sensed someone staring at me. I knew he was staring at me but I decided to just ignore him.
"I'm ordering food, do you want something?" He asks after half an hour, I look up to see him already dialing the number.
"Yeah, anything is fine just order whatever you are ordering," I tell him and I don't even know if he heard me or not. He puts on a leash on baby Yoda and walks inside the room without giving me a second glance.
Is he ignoring me or something?
Suddenly I remembered Amyra's words from the morning, 'Maybe you should two talk it out'.
Now was the time I guess, I received a call from my mom that evening asking when will we be going on a vacation because she was too shy to utter the 'Honeymoon' word.
I had just told her we are busy right now and will soon plan. She was disappointed at that and decided she will book tickets and just after we had finished talking I received two tickets to a tour of Europe from my mom.
Yeah, she just sent me Honeymoon tickets and my husband didn't know about it yet.
