Kanishk's Pov

"May I come in sir?" I heard a knock followed by Devika's voice.

"Come in," I mutter and flipped the pages of the file in front of me.

"Sir, I need your signs here and Mr. Ahuja is here to meet you." She tells me and I take the file from her hand.

"I'll sign them and send him in," I say and start reading the file she just gave me.

Feeling a gaze on me I looked up to see her staring at me with a smile on her face. I greeted my teeth irritated and bang the file in my hand loudly on my desk.

"Devika, this is intolerable. I don't pay you for standing in a place and smiling. Send Rishi in and get out." I say with authority in my voice and I see her nod her head.

"Very well then, and this is your last chance, if I find you in the same position again, be ready to get fired." With that said, I went back to reading the file.

That asshole brother of mine, I don't know what was he thinking when he decided to hire this woman. She's working with me for a month now, and even though her work is good, I hate the love-sick gazes she keeps giving me. That's sick.

I hear the cabin door closing and seconds later it was opened again indicating Rishi was here.

"So, how was your first night?" I look up to see Rishi strolling in with a huge smile on his face and a wine bottle in one hand.

"Seriously? That's the first question you ask me? And why the hell I would tell you that!" I said in a defensive tone.

"Oh come on man, I'm your bestie. You can tell me." He says with a mischievous smirk on his face.

I shook my head and kept aside my work to give him my full attention. "So, tell me what brought you here?" I ask, changing the topic.

"Can't I come here to meet you?" He says pouring the wine into two of the glasses and giving me one. I thanked him and smiled.

"Of course, you can, but I also know you always have some hidden motives whenever you come to meet me," I say and take a sip of my drink and he laughs.

"Right." He says nodding his head. "There's a party tonight, a business party of course. And we are going. Tell Siya too." He tells me and I frown.

"What party? Whose party?"

"The new businessman, Dev Sinha. I heard he just came back from LA. And he is the new CEO of that S.L. Company." He spoke and I nod my head seeking the information.

"So he's new in Delhi or he was a resident here?" I ask, my instinct wanting to know everything about him.

"He was from here, was doing some job there in London, and got promoted here," Rishi explains and I nod.

"And why are you inviting me on his behalf? He should know some business ethics." I say and finish up my drink.

Rishi shrugged his shoulders but soon a frown came on his face. "You didn't get the invite?" He asks and I shake my head. I would've gotten one Devika would've told-

"Devika!" I yelled out her name furious and irritated. Rishi raised his eyebrows at me amused, I ignored him and watched Devika come in looking scared.

"Ye..yes sir?"

"Did I get any invitation?" I ask and I see her face turn from confusion to one of horror.

"Yes...si..sir," she spoke and look down. "I...I kind of forgot to...inform you."

"How the hell can you forget to inform me of such a thing? Why are you here for?! It's your-"

"Okay, okay. Kanishk stop and Devika get out." Rishi says and sends the scared assistant out of my cabin.

"Dude you scared her," Rishi tells and rolls his eyes.

"So? Why do I care? And anyways I'm shifting her to one of my different branches in Delhi, I can't tolerate her." I say and he laughs.

"Dude, she's just nervous around you and she totally has hots for you." He says and I snort as if I don't know that.

"Whatever," I say dismissing the topic of my assistant. "Also Siya must've gotten the invitation too. She is one of the renowned names in the business world." I say with a little bit of smugness in my voice.

I see Rishi raising his eyebrows shocked but soon he was smiling.

"What?" I ask him at his sudden change of expression.

"Nothing, I was just a little stunned. It's the first time I'm hearing praise coming out of Kanishk Kapoor's mouth. You see, you usually treat other business people, men or women, as if they are the dirt under your shoe, but here you're taking so highly about your wife." He teased me.

"Shut up. I was just telling the truth and I don't treat people like the dirt under my shoe!" I say in my defensive tone.

"Oh please Kanishk, have you met you?" He asks and I roll my eyes.

"Okay, maybe sometimes," I say shrugging and he laughs and stands up.

"Anyway, I gotta go. I have a date with my wife." He says with excitement in his voice.

"God! You're so whipped." I teased him.

He smirks. "Yes, I'm whipped for my wife, because I love her. Wait until you-"

"No! Stop right there. I'm never falling in love, not even with my wife, you should know better I hate this love and relationships." I tell him.

"Really? We'll see about that." He says, his smirk still intact on his face. "And when you fall in love Kanishk, I'm sure you're going to come running to me for tips and suggestions. Mark my words." He says with a wink and leaves the cabin before I can reply anything.

"Whatever," I mutter under my breath and look at the time. It's only four in the afternoon. Anyways I don't have any work in the office, better get home and spend time with....uh...baby yoda. Yes, cause Siya must be in her office right now, right? And anyway who wants to spend time with that woman?

God! That woman is intolerable. She gets angry so easily. But she looks cute though. And when she looks at me with an angry face she-

Kanishk! Stop right there.
