12 : The Dinner

Siya's Pov

"Can we go home?" I ask Kanishk as soon as possible, not having the capacity to handle Riya and her talks.

Kanishk looks at me for a second and nods his head. "Okay, let's go, I was getting bored here as well," he says and looks at Rishi. "We are leaving, you guys coming?" Kanishk asks them and Rishi nods his head.

"Yeah, let's go to dinner somewhere, " Rishi suggests and I nod my head and look toward Riya and Dev who are very much interested in our conversation.

"Oh no, you guys are leaving so soon? The party hasn't even started yet," Dev says desperately looking at me and then at Kanishk who stood there still glaring at him.

"We apologize Mr. Sinha but we have urgent matters to attend and we've to leave, I hope we meet soon," Rishi says instead of Kanishk who was right now looking at me and Riya trying to understand why exactly we were glaring at at each other, and not talking like the sisters we actually were who have met after years.

"Yes, see you two soon," I say as a parting and look at Dev and Riya who kept looking at me and Kanishk as we left the party hall along with Rishi and Ananya.

"This has to be the most boring and awkward party I've attended," Rishi says and I chuckle and realize Kanishk's hand was still around my waist even after exiting the party hall.

I looked at him and he looked lost deep in thought. "Hey," I call out to him and he looks down at me. "So what do you think?" I ask as a shiver ran down my spine as Kanishk absentmindedly started running his thumb over my waist.

"It's just your ex, and your sister were a little-" he didn't complete the sentence but I knew what he was about to say. Awkward. Awkward to interact with.

"I know and that was exactly the reason I was avoiding this party," I tell him as we made our way to his car.

"Hey love birds, are we still on for dinner?" Rishi asks jokingly and I realize how close I and Kanishk were actually walking, with his hands around my waist, it actually looked like I was completely plastered to him.

It looked like Kanishk realized it too because he immediately withdraw his hands from around my waist and put them in his pockets nervously. "I'm sorry," he whispered and I felt a little bit hurt that he was apologizing for touching me.

"You're ok with going to dinner?" Kanishk asks standing at a respectable distance away from me and I immediately miss his warmth. I nod my head at his question.

"Okay then, I'll make the reservations," Rishi says as Ananya walks towards me.

"Want to make Kanishk feel desperate for you?" She asks whispering in my ears and my eyes go wide.

What?

"What?" I ask the question, a red hue spreading on my cheeks at her question and she laughs as Kanishk looks at us confused.

"What's so funny?" Kanishk asks and I shake my head and that just makes Ananya laugh even more.

"Kanishk if you don't mind I'm gonna steal Siya for some time," Ananya says and I look at her confused.

"Steal her?" he asks and Ananya smiles as soon as Rishi comes back after calling for the reservation and stands beside her.

"That means you drive with Rishi, I'll drive with Siya, ok?" she asks and my eyes go wide.

NO! I was about to say to her but she squeezes my hand and I look at Kanishk to see his reaction. He looked at me for some seconds, his face held no expressions, after some seconds he shrugged his shoulders and turned around towards his car.
