44 : The Promises

Kanishk's Pov

My head hurts.

It was the only thought I had the following day, sitting in a board room full of people suggesting and giving ideas for the launch of our next product, but my head was hurting, and all the blame goes to Ananya.

I was sure she did something with the drinks last night because I had no plans on getting drunk, I had other ideas with my wife which involved our house, our bedroom, she and me, that's it, but my annoying best friends came out of nowhere ruining my evening, and this morning too.

"Sir?" Raj's voice reached me and I looked around where everyone was waiting for me to say something and I realized I had no idea what they were talking about.

"Okay, the meeting is over," I say and stand up and everyone else immediately stood up.

"Sir? Which product are we launching next?" One of the men asks.

"None," I say, and everyone looks at me horrified, "I want new ideas," I tell them as everyone groans and one look from me shut them up immediately. 

"I want the new ideas by the end of the week," I tell them and stand up, Raj immediately following behind me as I leave the conference room.

"Sir, but some of the ideas were good," Raj says and I give him a glare which immediately shut him up.

"I know which ideas are good and which are not, you have a long way to learn," I tell him and enter my cabin and look at the time.

It was afternoon and I had no desire to work, if I had this thought some months back, I would've laughed and joked about it, but now, it's true, I had no desire to work right now.

A smile formed on my lips and I saw Raj staring at me shocked, I composed myself and sat on the chair, "Do I have any more meetings?" I ask him.

"Just one, it's at one in the afternoon," he tells me.

"Prepone it now, tell them the meeting will be in ten minutes, and then clear my schedule for the day, I'm leaving after the meeting," I say and see him still looking at me shocked. "Do I have something on my face, Raj?" I ask and he immediately shakes his head.

"Then go and do as I told, fast," I say and he immediately rushes out of my cabin.

I take out my phone to message Siya, if she is free I am going to take her out for lunch, and if she is not, I plan on spending the rest of my day in her office.

"Are you free?" I message her.

I had so many plans for us last night, but what the hell, I can't change anything now, but I'm trying so hard to remember what happened last night, I'm almost blank, I only remember leaving the restaurant, and then everything is just bits and pieces.

This morning, I woke up with a headache and Siya was by my side with a smile on her face, what more do I need for the best morning? I was going to take a leave but Siya said she had some important work and I wasn't ready to sit idle at home without my wife so I decided to go to the office too—big mistake.

I had no desire to work as soon as I came to the office, everyone and everything annoyed me, and not to forget the killer headache. 

Done with the work after an hour I drove toward Siya's office, on reaching there as usual everyone had that shocked expression they had sported the first time I had come here.

"Good Morning sir," the receptionist says and I give her a nod and notice someone was already standing at the reception with a bag and a bouquet full of roses. The receptionist looked at me worried and then at the man.
