Kanishk's Pov
"This better be worth it," I mutter as Rudra and I board the private plane to Mumbai. I look at Rudra to see him tensed, but it had nothing to do with my problem I know that for sure.
"What happened?" I asked him once we were settled in the plane waiting for the takeoff.
He looks at me and shakes his head, "It's nothing, let's focus on the real problem here," he says dismissing my question and I let it go because as much as I would like to hear my brother out, there were more concerning factors to think about.
"Right, what the hell is he doing in India anyway?" I ask and Rudra shrugs his shoulders, clearly not knowing why Mr. Juan, Siya's biggest client had suddenly come to India and was having a meeting with Dev and Riya nonetheless.
"Hell if I know, one of my men told me they will be meeting tomorrow at eleven, we have to go figure it out before Dev can be successful at whatever he is planning," Rudra tells me and I frown.
If he is trying to bad-mouth my wife and ruin anything for her, he'll have other things to worry about than being the CEO, I will bloody destroy him.
"What's the plan then? We have first to figure out why he is here and even Siya doesn't know he is in India, I'm sure they're planning something big," I say and take out my phone to message Raj.
"I think they're trying to take over Siya's project, at least that's what I think," Rudra says and I think over it. Even if they did try that, they don't have enough resources to fulfill Mr. Juan's project. This is something big, something different.
"There's only one way to find out," I say and message Raj to contact Mr. Juan and fix an emergency meeting at ten before he goes to have a meeting with Dev.
"You should've told Siya why we are leaving for Mumbai," Rudra says once I keep my phone down.
"I don't want to worry her," I say truthfully, since she has taken up this big project everyone is trying to sabotage it. First, it was my company's PR Aisha, and now it's Dev and Riya. "I will tell her once we know what is going on," I say and frown as I think of her sad face as I left tonight. She didn't say anything, didn't try to convince me to stay, or threw any kind of tantrum to stay because she knew, if she did, I would stay.
And if wasn't for her project, I would've stayed and enjoyed our first festival together but I didn't want to worry her and then there was the matter with her sister, I knew she would be more hurt knowing that it was her sister who was trying to steal away her project.
Tonight was one of the toughest nights I had gone through, I didn't want to leave her, especially after the wonderful time we had spent the whole day on the beach and then the kiss, I love how she is lost under my touch, she forgets everything when she is with me and nothing else matters to her, just as I do when she is with me, she is the center of my universe, even if she doesn't do anything to gain my attention, she always has it, she always has my undivided attention on her.
Her sad face once again popped up in my head and I grit my teeth and look over at Rudra to see him doing something on his laptop. "Change of plans," I say and he looks up at me. "We're meeting him sooner," I state.
"Kanishk, it's three in the morning," he tells and I scowl. I don't bloody care what time it was and that we would be disturbing Siya's client, but I don't give a fuck, he has already disturbed my time with her and made me hurt her, she was so excited for tomorrow, I didn't even give her the dress I bought for her for fuck's sake and all that because of this unexpected meet-up.
"If we do the meeting now, we can be back in Goa by afternoon," I tell him and he looks at me funnily.
"Brother, you're whipped," he states with a chuckle and I just scowl at him. Whatever.
