Siya's Pov

"Now, shall we proceed with the meeting?" I ask ignoring the piece of shit completely.

I looked up as his secretary looked at me confused and curious and a little bit jealous because of the way Dev was continuously staring at me. I ignored him for the rest of the meeting and only talked when I felt it is important.

As the meeting came to an end, Dev asked for a little meet-up at the end which made me a little mad but I went on with it. Now, only me and he were sitting in a conference hall at each end of the huge table.

"So?" He asks and when I raise my brows asking him what exactly he was asking, he cleared his throat. "How can you be the CEO? When you...you are-"

"I'm?"

"A college dropout!" He speaks up.

I snort. "What gives you the idea that college dropouts can't be CEOs?"

"But- but your father said he won't give you the company and it would be your sister-"

Suddenly all the hurtful memories of my past were swiped in. I wasn't feeling hurt though, no not at all. I have moved on, whether feelings I had for him when I was young were all gone. And now thinking about it, he was just a teenage crush of mine who I dreamt of marrying when I would get old and grow babies with him. Now, I laugh thinking how childish and stupid my thoughts were and most of all I laugh at myself because once upon a time...Dev was my boyfriend!

"I think it's time for you to go, Mr. Sinha, I don't like mixing my professional life with my personal and this office is clearly not the place to discuss it. So I request you sincerely to get out." I say, collecting the papers and standing up.

Once I collected the papers, I started walking towards the exit but stopped near him on the way. "You should keep up with the times Mr. Sinha, everyone and everything changes in a blink of an eye." With that said I walked back to my cabin and sighed.

I can't believe I didn't detail checked the CEO before arranging the meeting with his company. If only I wasn't so busy in my marriage rituals and my would-be husband, I would've known who exactly Mr. Sinha was!

And why did he have to make me remind me of my sister? That bitch! I don't know if I'm thankful for her or angry at her for doing what she did three years ago.

Riya Diwan, my older sister. She was beautiful. Beauty with brains. Always the first, whether it was in school or college, she was always the topper.

Riya, me, and Dev were childhood friends. Dev would always come to our house for every occasion, whether they were festivals or birthdays, or parties. He was always there.

It happened three years ago when I was in the last year of my college. I was one semester away from my degree in Masters. My sister was already graduated and was helping my dad with his office work but she wasn't always interested in business. She wanted to be a fashion designer much to my father's dismay but he decided he would go with it and let her pursue her dream and she was actually doing both, helping my father and pursuing her dream.

It was my last day at college when I dropped out because of some false information from the juniors. They found drugs and cocaine in my locker. Then the next six months went on to resolve the issue and catch the culprit.

But because I dropped out, Dev was maintaining distance from me. We were dating for a year then but after hearing that I was involved in drugs, he started maintaining a distance from me. It was stupid that he thought I would do something like that! I mean he knew me since childhood. But nonetheless, he believed the rumors.
