Kanishk's Pov
Today just wasn't my day.
I got a call from Raj early in the morning saying that our foreign clients want to cancel our contract, upon learning the truth about why it was canceled, I was furious, Dev Sinha, Siya's ex had manipulated our client against us and that cost me crores.
I was furious the moment I walked into the office and I could sense everyone realized that because of how they were walking on a thin line around me. Raj was the one who took the blow of my most of my anger and I was way too furious to care about anything.
Around lunch, Rishi walked into my office and started asking about Siya and how far have we progressed, ignoring my mood. He kept on asking and that just made me more angry making me lash out at him, saying words that I never meant to say because they were never true.
But an angry person doesn't care what he is saying and that's what happened and I lashed out at Rishi, not caring what I was saying and how hurtful it was to even think like that but I was far too gone to care about anything and I just kept yelling.
"Enough!" Rishi yelled at me and walked towards me angrily. "Do you even realize what you're saying, Kanishk?" he called out angrily and I closed my eyes to take deep breaths, trying to calm down.
"I -" I couldn't finish as a hard blow landed on my cheek and knocked me off my feet and I stumbled back trying to gain my balance.
"What the heck?" I say shocked looking at Rishi who stood there ready to punch me again on my other cheek but I held my hands up in surrender, "Dude, stop it," I say and moved away from him.
"I should've done this when you were uttering nonsense out of your mouth," he says and turns around, I sign and close my eyes again, recalling everything I'd said just minutes back, and realized that I deserved that punch from Rishi and many more.
Siya was the best thing in my life right now and saying a deal was more important to me than her, it was a spur-of-the-moment.
"You know Kanishk I feel ashamed to even call you my friend right now," Rishi's words brought me out of my thoughts and I sit down on the couch exhausted.
"I'm sorry," I say to him and put my head in my hands, already feeling a headache coming.
"Yeah right, as if you mean it," Rishi says walking towards my desk and taking out a chair to sit on. "You basically yelled at me for suggesting to spend time with your wife," he says and I shake my head.
"I know," I admit and massage my temples trying to calm down the headache.
"You know Kanishk, if you're not happy with Siya you should take a div-"
"Don't finish that sentence," I say angry at the thought of that word and how could he even say it.
"Why not? You keep proving again and again that marrying her was your worst mistake," he says and I scowl at him.
"I never said marrying her was my worst mistake," I say offended and he just glares at me.
"You don't have to say it, your words earlier proved you think like that," Rishi says and this time I glare at him.
"Well, I don't," I tell him.
"If you had just-"
"May I come in sir?" our receptionist knocked on the door and Rishi stooped talking and we turn towards her.
"Come in," I say and see her walk in with a bag in her hand. She looked troubled as she walked inside, "What is it, Meera?" I ask and she forwards her hand with a bag giving it to me.
