Chapter Fourteen: Rushing and the Outfit

As soon as I wake up I rush to the Knights meeting. I was already late. Erza didn't wake me up this morning. So my day is already off. I try to get my dress on. But it just wouldn't get on. I was so frustrated I screamed. How am I supposed to make everything right again if I can't even put a single dress on?! I take my dress off. The little part that was on my body anyway. I go to my other part of my room to all the boxes that my father is making me throw away. It was the knight outfits Gajeel and Laxus gave me. I rip one open and find one of my favorites. It's completely black. And it looks like a knights outfit. The shoulders have pieces of gold. I put it on as quickly as I could and grab a pair of boots instead of heels and rush out down the hall.

"Hey Lucy!" I hear Daryl yell.

But I'm already across the red carpet and down the steps. The huge staircase that couldn't get any longer. I finally see the cobblestone walls and I know I'm close. I rush down the hall seeing the golden chandelier and then I turned right. Finally entering the Knights meeting room.

I open the door and I'm welcomed by complete silence.

"Sorry I'm late," I say as I take my seat.

Natsu doesn't look the least bit of happy to see me. He looks lost in thought.

"Why weren't you at the meeting yesterday?" Natsu asks.

Why wasn't I at the meeting yesterday?

"My Dad... um he's gotten worse. And I needed to see him," I state.

"Interesting..." Natsu says.

"Why are you late?" Natsu asks.

"I woke up late," I answer.

"Why are you wearing that?" Natsu says pointing towards my outfit.

"I was trying to get my dress on quickly but I couldn't get it on. So, I just threw on this so I wouldn't be later as it is," I answer truthfully.

I couldn't help but feel like I broke the promise to my Dad about wearing dresses in battle. But at the same time I finally felt like myself. Gray is right. I'm not the type to wear dresses.

"Okay then... Matt Carry on," Natsu demands.

"Yes Sir," Matt says.

He talks about how the Roe kingdom is supposed to attack in about two days. And their objective is take out the only Knight house that we have. But they are most likely bringing all their knights with them. Only because they found out someone from our kingdom found out the information.

I was wondering how someone found out.

"So we will go to the Knights house tonight and sleep there until they attack. You are all dismissed to get everything you need ready," Natsu explains.

I along with everyone else start to exit. But suddenly Natsu says," Not you Lucy. We have a lot to discuss."

I turned around and walked towards him. Matt was the one to shut the door. But I could hear everyone telling each other to shut up. I think they want to hear this conversation. This can't be good.

"Lucy how do you expect to go to battle if you couldn't even make it to the meeting yesterday and missed most of it today. I literally had to make Matt repeat himself since you came so late. But it wasn't that obvious was it. But by the time you entered the door I was about to dismiss them," Natsu yells.

"I don't have an excuse. But I still want to fight this battle as much as you do. Just because I didn't come to the meeting yesterday and most of it today doesn't mean I changed my mind. The only mind here who's change is yours!" I yell too.

"Very well," Natsu says. "But I want you here in this room an hour early until this war is over. Is that understood? Natsu asks as he finished what he was trying to say.

"Yes," I respond.

I exit the room having a bad feeling about this plan. Why would he send every Knight to the Knights House? Even the Knights that are in the castle it doesn't make any sense.

As I exit the room I see the Knights running down the hall. They aren't that sneaky. But it is funny watching them run.
