It was no mistake. Gray sent me a letter. I opened it
Lucy,
It was a great honor to see you today. But I can't say that about your parents. Please don't be offended by that. There's a way to stop the upcoming war. But I doubt that you would agree. A way to stop the war is for you to become my bride. Of course you could get to know me first. But what about your father and mother? They would be quick to deny the idea since you father is sick. But they do hold a grudge against my kingdom. But the choice is yours. Is this war worth it to you?
GrayI gripped the letter and ran to my parents room. They should be asleep but this could be a way for our kingdoms to finally go in peace. But Gray might be right. They might quickly deny the idea.
The walls were so empty tonight. I wonder why. I pasted the guards that are guarding my parents bedroom. I heard little whispers and I decided to listen. So I putted my ear against the door. The guards were sleeping, so they wouldn't know.
"He threatened us Jude! He threatened Lucy! And she might come in here any minute and ask for them to try to be together, and if we refuse we will have this war. But the thing is, even if we except we have no idea what could happen to Lucy while she's over there. He might take advantage of her being there and kill her," my mother whisper yelled at my father.
All the energy I had in me was drained at that moment. So he wants to use me? Just like everybody else huh? I guess he's no different. I slowly removed my ear from the door and I stopped listening completely. I barged in the room. The looks on my parents faces was so weird. They looked shocked but happy to see me in one combination.
I showed them the letter. My Mom looked worried but my dad looked like he knew what I was going to say. But the thing was he had no clue I was going to deny his offer.
"I refuse to be toyed with. I want to write Gray a letter tomorrow morning during breakfast and write why his offer is being refused. I don't want to make a stupid choice. Thanks Mom," I said as I threw the letter at her.
She smiled at me. I nodded at my dad and he had nothing but a shocked look on his face. I guess he was right about everything. Everything is still unknown to me.
I left their room and made way to my room. I decided to write the letter early. I grabbed a feather and ink and started to write on a blank sheet of paper.
Gray,
I see you have good intentions. But I don't trust you. And I think this is just your way of getting what you want. Your offer has been denied by me. Getting to know you may be worth it. But I don't want to be used by someone like you. I hope you understand. But this also means that the war will continue at this point. So bring it on if you still wish.
Lucy
I folded the sheet of paper and putted it inside an envelope. I know I made a good choice. But I'm worried about the outcome of this. What about the people who will be endangered? The villagers, Levy... Is refusing worth it?
