The mission was today.
I woke up at 6 AM like I usually do. I finished getting dressed and ran to the entrance gate of the Castle. We start the mission today. I'm so excited! I passed all the beautiful stone walls and the garden. I went through the main door and stepped outside. It was beautiful. The sun was shining just a crack. It was the prettiest sun rise I've seen in a long time. All the oranges and yellows made it perfect. I ran the rest of the way to the entrance gate and saw most of the knights that are coming with me for the mission. While the rest are planning for the war without me because I'm not allowed to know where any of the battles are because I might fight there too. But that's the thing I would fight. So they're smart for hiding it from me.

"Good morning Princess Lucy," all the knights said at once.

They then bowed.

"Good morning guys! Let's get this mission started!" I yelled.

They all laughed. I cracked a smile. We all got our horses ready and started to travel to the Village. Everyone except me was allowed to enter the village. Once we got to the intersection three knights stopped with me and waited for the other seven knights to get back from the village at sun fall, or until they find the bandits. But that could take months if they're good at hiding themselves. Which most are. I watched the rest of the knights and horses head west towards the village. While the rest of us sat and ate some breakfast that I packed for myself. But I brought extras just in case anyone else was hungry. But everyone that was here with me was. So we ate the last of my fruit and other food in that matter while waiting for the other knights to return. About two hours later. I could tell because I learned about where the sun is in the sky at what hour. But the way the sky looked its been two hours of us doing nothing besides talking. We all stood up at the same time because of the noise. It sounded like our horses. And sure it was. The knights held three men around their thirties.

"Lucy these are the men you are responsible to take back to the Castle on your own. If you let them get away for any reason you will not become a knight," Sir Natsu shouted.

"We will not be accompanying you either," Sir Brandon finished.

I nodded.

They gave me the men and I putted them on the back of my horse. I made sure they wouldn't fall off. Once I was finished I saw all the knights staring at me. I think they were waiting for me to leave. I quickly got back on my horse and whipped the horses.

"She will never make it to the Castle on her own with those men," Sir Natsu said rudely.

I'll show you! I thought.

The ride was going great I was able to focus on the dirt road and the beautiful scenery. It was still bright and the birds kept playing their favorite tune. But out of no where the three men started to shake and the horses yelled and stopped he almost threw me off. The three men were smirking. I grabbed my sword and put it to one of the men's neck.

"Cut it out! I'm not scared of any of you. If I have to I will kill you," I said lightly.

But I did say it like it was a threat. The man held his hand up best as he could. This was a sign of retreat that he surrendered, the others sighed. I putted my sword away and kept riding the rest of the way to the Castle. Luckily the bandits didn't try anything. I'm now at the Castle gate. The guards opened the gate for me. I entered and went to the knights main office. I took the bandits off my horse and had a strong grip and made them walk ahead to the knights office. Once I entered you could see the paintings of knights and beautiful scenery. Once I saw Sir Natsu his jaw dropped. I know why. I heard what he said a couple of hours ago. He didn't think I could handle these bandits. Someone I didn't know took the three men away from me and walked out. Sir Natsu hasn't left his spot.

"I did my mission. I'm a knight now!" I said happily.

"Hurray!" The knights cheered.

Besides one.

Sir Natsu started to stump and storm his way out of the office. He's mad that I, a daughter of a king. Someone who is protected not protecting is a part of his knights. But there's only one thing left to do...

There's a tradition. Whenever there is a new member you have to fight all the knights to see where you are as in your ranking. This is a good chance to be on the front lines. I have to fight against all the knights one on one or if Natsu wishes, I could fight against more than one at a time. It's all his decision. Since he's the head of the knights. If I defeat everyone I'll be the head knight. I have a lot to look forward to. Now I can tell my Mom about my success, unless she has already heard about it.

I ran down the quiet hallways and jogged the rest of the way to my Mom's private room. I knocked three times. Weirdly, there was no guards at her door. I opened up the door and saw my Mom in bed reading a book about the history of our castle. I walked over to her and quickly embraced her into my arms.

"How did your mission go? Did you get in?" My Mom asked.

"Yes, it went well. Tomorrow I have to go one-on-one against every knight in the castle to figure out my position. This is a tradition," I said happily.

We checked up on how our days went. Then when the clock stricked Eleven PM, I said my goodbye and went to my room. Welcomed into my room by Daryl I changed into a night gown and turned the lights out. I fell into a deep sleep.
