Chapter Twenty-Nine: Come With Me

Lucy's P.O.V

Almost as soon as the waltz ends I quickly run after my mother. She never leaves events like these as "important" as they are, early. Something is up. I run after her to be caught in a crowd of the knights. They must of known I would come after her. At the end of the Hall is Gray. His hands are tied up and two knights are holding him against his will. But behind them is my mother with a smirk. I'm at the other end of the hall. Gray finally notices me. I try to run to him. But the knights draw their weapons at me.

Gray shakes his head. He doesn't want me to?

Suddenly I feel something on my shoulder. I look behind me to see Laxus' nephew's hand on my shoulder. He gives me a small smile. I feel sick. This is what this kingdom has come to?

He let's go of my shoulder and walks to Gray, he stands in front of Gray and whispers something in his ear. Then he makes sure the knights hold him down as he continuously punches Gray in the face.

"Get him out of here," Laxus's Nephew says to the knights.

They take Gray away. I couldn't do anything yet again. I collapse to the floor and the tears take over. The knights walk over me. They all leave me there. I see my mother last and she just gives a look of pity. I bite my tongue as she walks away.

I stay against the wall. Later, I see Natsu running towards me.

"Lucy... what happened to you?" He asks.

"It's nothing," I answer as I get up and walk towards my room.

He seems hurt. But this is my own problem. And I don't want him of all people to be in the middle of everything. I walk to my new room and go right to sleep.

The next day, Ezra wakes me up at her usual time. I get on a knight outfit. I refuse to wear a dress today. I go through my draws to find my sword. I pick it up to see something of my Father's fall. Suddenly, I'm taken away by his own words.

Lucy your name has power.

I'm officially the queen of the Kingdom. I WILL be Gray's Bride. I refuse to marry someone who's name isn't even important to me. Known as Laxus' nephew. My apologies Laxus. But your nephew is a asshole.

My minds been made up. I decided to storm into my mother's room. I put my sword to my side. I exit my new room and run to my mothers room. I'm welcomed with no guards at her door. I enter her room.

There she is. Reading about the Roe kingdom. I quickly walk to her and slam the book to her legs so I get her attention before she even noticed I entered the room.

"I am Lucy Heartfilia Queen on this Kingdom. And I refuse to be pushed around. I will Marry Gray Fullbuster so both kingdom's can have a alliance. You need to tell me the truth about why you're so against the Roe Kingdom!" I screamed.

She looked taken back. It's silent for awhile. We're just staring at each other. But finally she lets me in a little.

"My Mother was killed in the war. Long before I married your father. I was about twelve years old," my mother told me slowly.

"But why can't you just let it go? We need this alliance. I fell in love with him. Yesterday was the worst possible thing you could've done," I tell her.

"I'm sorry Lucy. But I had so much anger. So if you're just gonna marry him anyway. You should at least have my blessing," she says.

"Mom come with me. You should meet their people. They have a better Kingdom. They actually care and want the best for their people. Their crimes aren't nearly as bad as ours. Please say you'll come with me?" I beg her.

Waiting for her answer is killing me.

"Alright but I'm only staying for one day," she tell me.
