Chapter Seventeen: I Was Just Nervous

I woke up again in a nicer room than before. But I can't even describe how it looks. Let's just say it's amazing. It's been a full day now. But I couldn't help but be scared about how my kingdom is considering I was kidnapped.

Gray came in as soon as I got up. I ran to my bed and tried to act like I was sleeping but he caught me again.

"You really don't have to pretend that you're sleeping when I come in. I only came to check up on you," he tells me.

"Sorry. It's just... it feels weird and I'm not really good at hiding emotions," I apologized.

"It's fine. But do you want a change of clothes? And maybe a brush and some toothpaste to freshen up?" He asked me.

"Do I look that bad?" I panicked.

"No, you look great even now," he said.

I started to blush.

"I see..." I mumbled. "Yes. But make sure it's a dress," I told him.

"Why a dress. Don't you hate dresses?" He asked.

"Yes but I made a promise," I told him.

He got up to leave but I quickly ran up to him and pulled on his uniform. He instantly turned around.

"Gray..."

I started to feel really dizzy and then I lost my footing. I started to fall. But he caught me in his arms. Our faces were so close. But thankfully I didn't blush. He pulled me back up.

"Lucy take it easy. Do you want to go to the infirmary?" He asked with sincere.

"Wait a second. Let me ask you this... what's happened to my kingdom? What have they done? Have they threatened your kingdom?" I whispered.

"Your father threatened me. But I didn't take it personally. That's how I would react if someone stole my daughter. I just told him I would give you back unharmed in a couple of weeks. I need to get to know you first," he answered me.

"And?" I questioned him. I lifted my finger up in his face and gave him a threatening look.

"Well I did say that if his army would attack I would make sure to kill every single last one of them," he continued.

Suddenly the thought of Gajeel and Laxus went through my head. He would kill more people the way he killed them. I moved my finger away from his face and suddenly I felt light. Just the thought of Gajeel and Laxus made me lose sight of the world and I started to float back into my own memories.

"Lucy! Lucy?"

The sound started to drift away and finally I was back in the past reliving that awful day. The day the Roe Kingdom attacked. The day Gajeel and Laxus died.

I felt someone shaking me and I was brought back to my time.

"Lucy!!!" Gray was screaming now.

I was on the floor. I must of collapsed.

"Sorry again," I apologized.

"It's okay. But don't scare me like that again. I'll call a maid in to get your clothes. I'm not going to leave you tonight," Gray said.

"He opened the door and yelled for someone. About two minutes later a young girl came in and bowed.

"What is it your highness?" The maid asked.

"I need a dress for Lucy. Also a hairbrush, toothbrush, and toothpaste," Gray ordered.

"Yes your highness. I'll be back in a little bit," the maid said.

"Thank you Lisanna," Gray said.

He picked me up and putted me on the bed. I started to freak out. No one has ever putted me on the bed before while I was awake. I started to blush. But I quickly hid under the blankets.

Soon the maid came back and handed Gray the items he requested.

"If it doesn't fit just call me again," I heard the maid say as she closed the door.

I lifted myself up and got out from under the covers. Gray handed me the dress and he led me towards the bathroom. He shifted the door once I was stable. I tried getting the dress on but I couldn't do this one part. It was the front. Of course it was the front. You had to over loop the two parts together then tie it all the way up. Damn that maid! I opened the bathroom door slightly.

"Gray... I need some help," I said.

He came in and I told him what to do. He brought the pieces together. And then started to tie them together. I got goosebumps every time his fingers loosely touched my skin. And my heart was beating a mile a minute.

Once he was done he gave me the toothpaste and brush.

"Thank you," I said to him.

He just nodded.

I brushed my teeth and hair. I opened up the bathroom door and attempted to walk to the bed where he was sitting but I couldn't make it my feet abandoned me.

"Lucy are you alright?" He asked me.

"Yeah I was just nervous and my feet gave out," I started to blush.

I can't believe I just said that!
