Me and Xander cuddled for the rest of the day. So did everybody else. It was pretty nice to have a quiet day with the person each of us loved. Xander looked at me, deep in thought.
"You okay, babe?" he took a second to reply.
"Uh, Yeah, I'm fine." he paused. "Wait, Roxy. I wanted to ask you something."
"Okay."
He sighed. "You don't have to say yes, but I was wondering if you wanted to move in together."
I was taken back by his question.
"Really?"
"Well, yeah. I mean, we pretty much stay together. And I thought that maybe we should get an apartment or something. Small enough for just us.." I kept my eyes on his.
"My house is big enough, babe. My parents left me and Dixie enough money to have us set until we die. I bought this house So we could all be together, comfortably." He looked disappointed.
"It's nice to have our friends around...But, I want to be able to lay with you on the couch, and cuddle or make out. whatever we want without having them here. We can use this as our..hangout. I'll buy us a house or an apartment. It's a big step for us, but when we get married, we need to have our own life. It's time we all grow up and not be So dependent." I watched him as he spoke. He was right, we're going to be married soon. It's time we grow up and move on. We love our friends. But we need our privacy.
"Okay." I agreed. he smiled and kissed my cheek.
I checked my phone. It was 6:04.
"We should really go take a shower." he smiled and picked me up.
"As you wish."
We both showered together for about 45 minutes. As we got out I kissed him and told him to get the girls so we could get ready. He nodded and walked out the door.
I laid across my bed with the towel wrapped around me in deep thought.
So much was happening in my life. I'm getting married. Married. I didn't know I'd be thinking about that at 18. What if I mess up my vows? Or what if I choke? Oh God.. was I even ready for that?! I was starting to get worried. I was able to calm myself down after a moment. He wants to move in with me.. This is such a big step for us. Having a place to call our own. Not having our friends around all the time. I was happy, but not like I should be. Lost in thought, I heard a slight tap on my door.
"Come in." I sat up to see that it wasn't the girls, but Zedd.
"Hey, Rox.." he said playing with his fingers.
"What's up?"
"Um.. I need to talk to you." he stopped then continued. "I didn't want to tell anybody, but I was fired from my job. I got into a fight with the owners son. He was making nasty remarks about Cat. Saying he'd have sex with her and blah blah." I was shocked. "He has no right to do that! I'm glad you stood up for her. But do you need something?" he looked ashamed. "I have no money to take her out tonight. And I don't want to be the only guy who can't-" I cut him off. "Don't worry about it, Hon. You don't need to be embarrassed. Shit happens!" I smiled and walked over to a box I kept money in and pulled out some money. "Here's a few thousand. Keep the rest until you get back on your feet. I promise this will stay between us." he looked at me. "Roxy.. that's more than enough. I can't take that money." I hugged him. "Zedd, you're like family. I don't mind. At all." he smiled lightly and I placed the money in his hand. "Now go get ready. I'll see you downstairs soon. And tell the girls to hurry up and get in here!" "Thanks Roxy." he walked out the room.
