I haven't talked to anybody in a few weeks. I haven't even cut my phone on. My days have seemed to just blend in together. I didn't even know today was Friday.
My days consist of school and studying. That is how it should be. I think I might've lost my voice from lack of use. Oh well.
People talk around school. But I don't care. I'm doing what I should be doing. A boy isn't my biggest concern right now, in fact, I've only thought about him a few times...a day. I know that I still love him, but I can't go through that pain anymore. I know I'm not stable enough.
Friday night, and I'm sitting at my kitchen table doing extra work, keeping straight A's is getting harder. But my eating and sleeping habits have gone back to normal, so I look young and healthy again. Beyond thrilled about that.
I sighed when I finally finished my work. Maybe I'll turn my phone back on for a while..
I held the power button down until I saw it light up. It didn't even finish loading and I started getting text messages and voicemails. Shit. It was going to take forever to go through all of this. I started going through my text messages, no surprise to me, but most of them were from Xander. I had over 400 unread messages and about 12 voicemails. I'm guessing my voicemail filled up so whoever called couldn't leave anymore. Ha. Good.
I started going through the texts.
"I miss you."
"I love you."
"Roxy, please forgive me."
"I need you."
"Rox? Hon, it's Tank. Can you reply to somebody? We're all worried about you."
I had no intention of speaking to any of them, but I figured I'd call Tank.
"Roxy?!"
"Hi, Tank." huh, still had my voice.
"How are you?" he said whispering a bit. I assume he's near Xander.
"Yeah, I'm.. I'm fine. How is everybody?"
Silence.
"Tank?"
"I'm here. Xander is.. torn apart. He hasn't eaten or slept any. His grades are going into the dumps, hell, he hasn't even shaved."
"Yeah, I noticed that."
"Can you come over, Rox? I know you're hurting as well, but you guys should fix this. Even if you don't end up together."
I sighed. "Yeah, be there in a minute."
We hung up and I grabbed my keys. As hurt as I was, I didn't want Xander ruining his life. I do love him, more than life. I knew I had to fix this. As I walked to the door, I noticed how horrid I looked. I called Tank back.
"Tank, I'll be there soon, something came up. I promise I'm coming." I hung up before he could reply.
I quickly did my hair and put on a dress with some heels. I was putting on makeup while walking to the car. I looked in the mirror and smiled.
"Let's do this."
I pulled up in the yard and walked to the door slowly. I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. I fixed my hair as the door opened slowly, It was Xander. He looked up from his feet. Tears started forming in his eyes, I felt horrible.
"Hi.." I said with a smile.
"Roxy.." He moved closer. I pulled him into a tight hug. "Roxy I'm sorry, please-" I cut him off with a passionate kiss. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in closer.
Tank came up behind us and yelled my name. "Roxy! I'm glad you came when you did, I was getting anxious. I wanted to tell him!" I smiled. "I wanted to surprise my fiance." His eyes lit up. "You still want to marry me?"
"Silly question. Now let's go to our apartment."
he nodded. "Can I just..."
"Yeah,. go freshen up. I'll be waiting right here." he smiled and ran upstairs looking back at me.
Tank put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me inside. Martika was sitting on the couch, reading a book. She hadn't noticed I was there. "Mar?" She looked in my direction and set her book down. "Rox!" She squealed throwing her arms around my neck. "I missed you baby!"
"I missed you, too." She smiled and pulled me to the couch. "Now, about this whole wedding. What are your colors? I wanted to go ahead and find my dress.. If you didn't mind, of course." "They're lilac and black. Of course I don't mind, I'm letting everybody choose for themselves." She jumped around clapping. "Yay!" We continued talking about the wedding, Tank kept rolling his eyes at us.
"Okay, I'm ready." Xander said coming down the stairs. He was wearing a shirt I bought him a while back. "Let's go, sweets." We waved and walked out the door.
I was so glad to have him back. We were going to be together forever, I just knew it.
