I couldn't relax my stance at all, and my arms were tense and firm around Camila's body. I was ready for anything thing he tried to do to get close to her. I could snap his neck at an absurd speed, and I couldn't care less if I had an audience.
Once we paid for the bottles of water, Camila intertwined our hands and started walking towards the bleachers. As soon as we stepped on the first step, my phone started ringing, so I asked Camila to go ahead, and she just nodded her head.
"Description." That was all Normani said.
"Blond, blue eyes, several tattoos on his arm, kind of tanned..."
"Drew Chadwick, 26 years old." Normani said. "He's only trained in boxing, and he will start learning capoeira within a few weeks. He's new in the organization." I scratched my head, it would be easier if he tried something. "We're on our way there, Dinah will help you handle things."
"Should I worry about him?"
"No, Drew is kind of greedy, but he's not smart... Maybe he'll try to grab her, but a brute like him draws too much attention." I made a nasal sound, telling them I understood. "Did the kid win something?" Mani asked.
"She came in second place the first time... And she's going to swim again now. I have to go."
I hung up and rolled up my sleeves, suddenly being hit by a hellish heat. I climbed the stairs and sat down next to Camila, who was looking at me somewhat apprehensively, but I pretended I didn't notice and looked straight to the pool.
Sofia was stretching her arms, and she seemed more than nervous. She put the swimming goggles on top of her head and adjusted her hair swim cap, to then look for her family in the bleachers. When Sofi located us, Camila waved and smiled broadly at her sister, who smiled back and took a deep breath once again. Sofia's coach kept talking to her, and that seemed to calm her down.
After about five minutes, Sofi's category was announced through the speakers. The little girl climbed the small step and stood in that concrete square right in front of the pool. She took a deep breath, put her swimming goggles on, quickly stretched for the last time, and then got into position. When the horn sounded throughout the environment, Sofia jumped perfectly into the water and began to swim quickly. The four of us got up, and I couldn't take my eyes off her, she looked like a rocket under water, but still, she had two girls in front of her. I think that number was haunting her. But out of nowhere, she started to swim even faster, and I couldn't help the shriek of happiness that escaped my mouth when she was the first to put her hand on the wall.
"She did it!" I exclaimed excitedly and then looked at Camila, who was staring at me. "What?" I asked, and she shook her head as she bit her lower lip.
"Nothing... I just like knowing that you like my sister." She smiled, and I winked at her.
Sofia got out of the pool with the help of her coach, who smiled happily and hugged her in celebration. My right arm was hugging Camila by the shoulders and she was hugging me by the waist. And Sinu was smiling, alternating her gaze between us and Sofia.
We stayed there for a few more minutes, and then we descended the bleachers, heading towards the locker-rooms. When Sofi showed up, she ran to Camila and hugged her older sister, who was celebrating her victory enthusiastically. Sinu pinched her younger daughter's cheeks, and the girl just smiled like the sun. Alejandro just flashed her a weak smile and gave her a quick hug.
"Wow, you looked like a rocket in the water!" I said smiling, and Sofi smiled back as she removed her hair swim cap. "Dinah would love to see you swimming, seriously, you need to make a bet with her. That woman thinks she can beat anyone, but that's because she hasn't met you." I said smiling, and Camila laughed.
