It was finally time for Hogsmeade. We all agreed to meet in the Gryffindor tower so when I was last to show up all I could say was.
"It's Wednesday my dudes"
"Masie," Lilly started, "It's Monday."
"Yeah, I know, what do you think I am, stupid?" Everyone started to walk out of the portrait trying to get out of the awkward situation. You see this is the fun that comes out of being a Legilimens, you get to put people in situations they don't to be in and make them so uncomfortable that all they can do is leave.
I followed the group out of the painting and down the hallway noticing Dani cheering in her head about how happy she was to be with Sirius. I personally thought they were the cutest couple ever. I was glad she was happy. I never liked reading Dani's mind before because it was always filled with negative thoughts. I mean I thought she was about to commit. But I am glad I get to see the new Dani that's happy on the inside and outside.
I tip toed behind Lupin as we were approaching hogsmeade and scared him from behind. "BOO!" hoping to make him loosen up. He just seemed so tense all of the time. And I knew why. He did not want me to know about his monthly moonlight transformation. Wow , say that five times fast. I didn't know why he didn't want me to know , I mean the only other person that isn't supposed to know is Dani because she just joined the group. But I've known Remus since first year and this is the only secret he has ever kept from me.
"Bloody hell Masie you just about gave me a heart attack!" He yelled trying to laugh to make it seem like he wasn't scared.
"That's the point. But you just seem so tense. I mean loosen up a little." as I talked I grabbed his hands and made them move around like noodles but he just kept a poker face.
"Guys let's go get a butter beer I'm starving!" Dani called out holding Sirius' hand.
We all walked behind them hoping for a butter beer. But once we got to the restaurant Remus and I were told to sit at a different table. I knew this was all Dani's doing but I played it off as if I were confused. But before I even sat down Remus pulled me out of the building immediately asking questions.
"Do you know my secret?"He asked fear in his eyes.
"The werewolf thing? Yeah" I said as if it were obvious, which it was.
"How long have you known?" He asked on the verge of tears.
"Since first year." I stated knowing he was upset about this.
"Why did you not tell me you knew?"
"I thought you would start avoiding me. Because that's what you did to your closest friends after they found out. And you were already so miserable ,I mean, I thought I would just make it worse."
He ran his hand through his hair conflicted on how to respond. "I'm not upset about it."
"Really?" I said feeling a weight being lifted off of my chest.
"Yeah. You were gonna figure out somehow."
We walked beck into the warm building, walking over to our group of friends tat were finally allowing us to sit with them. Suddenly Dani and peter walked in and immediately started talking.
"Hey" Peter said pulling a chair up to the table.
My dad joke instincts kicked in and I blurted out,"Hey is for horses and you're a rat."
The minute those words came out of my mouth I covered my mouth with my hands thinking about all of the explaining I was going to have to do.
