The winter ball was coming up and Remus has already asked me to go with him. Dani practically had a heart attack when she heard.
I was still bumbed out though. Christmas break was right around the corner and I was definitely not looking forward to that. Most likely because I have not been able to celebrat Christmas in about eight years.
"What do you mean you haven't celebrated Christmas in eight years?!" Dani shouted as we sat in my dorm.
"I just haven't, My mother thinks that it's for the weak."
Dani threw me an apologetic look before she looked at me with her chest held high and a proud smirk forming on her face. "Then I guess we are going to have to break you out."
"You mean...?"
"Yep!" Dani remarked.
I pushed myself of the bed and gave her the tightest hug imaginable.
"I didn't know you had this kind of hug in you," She gave me a joking look, "Thought that you saved them all for Lupin."

The paper that my roommate handed me read that multiple muggles have been killed. Dani looked at me with wide eyes but I was more focused on Judy who had tears in her eyes by now.
I knew what was wrong. I knew why my roommate had broken down on her knees and began to bawl. It was because her parents had been sent to Azkaban prison. The poor thing had practically been disowned by them long ago when she made it heard that she did not want to follow in her parents' footsteps. I went towards her to give her a hug, the same kind of hug I had given Dani only moments ago.
But that one hug wouldn't stop the tears and sniffles that escaped Judy's mouth late at night, or ow she would neglect the food she was givn for almost all three meals. Nothing would help with the fact that Judy just lost her last leagal gaurdians left,
