Baby animals fail miserably

We had recently learned how to cast our patronous an it was one thing that I was actually good at.

I was sitting in the Gryffindor common room with the marauders and Dani, waiting on her to finish a costume. I dangled my head upside down on an armrest feeling the blood already rushing towards my head.

"Dani what's your patronus?" I asked starting a conversation.

"A peacock. What about you?" She questioned.

"A lamb." I said remembering back to yesterday when I saw the baby animal try to walk and fail miserably.

I heard some snickers from the boys and noticed Remus trying to cover is face.

"Hey what's so funny?" I asked but I just made everyone laugh more when I fell backwards and off of the sofa.

"Nothing Masie." Dani said slightly annoyed.

SKIP TO A FEW HOURS LATER

I sat in a cozy chair in the Hufflepuff common room talking to my roommate ,Judy.

"Masie have you even picked a Halloween costume yet?" Judy asked.

"Ehhm , No." I said rushing to our room that we share with three more girls. I began to look through my closet hoping n idea would just pop into my head. I turned to my cat and instantly an idea was born.

Obviously I wasn't about to dress up as a cat , that would be boring. I was just going to be the next best thing , a mouse.

I looked through my closet and found a really pretty black skater dress that stopped right above my knees. I dug a little deeper into the clothes and found some mouse ears that I used in a costume like five years ago.  Yep , that's an ok costume.

I lay down on my bed already feeling a little tired.

I woke up in the middle of the night. 4:01 am to be exact. I got out of bed and almost slipped on some blank , folded parchment. I picked it up and placed it on a table that was in the middle of the room hoping someone would claim it tomorrow and started walking to the common room to see if anyone was up. Unfortunately I was alone. I walked back to the dorm and noticed the parchment wasn't on the table anymore.

"Hello." I whispered starting to get a little scared. I checked all of my roommates to make sure that they were really asleep and not trying to scare me. Everyone was asleep. I locked the door to make sure that whatever was scaring would be caught and couldn't escape. I stood on my bed and grabbed one of Judy's heels, preparing myself to throw them at something or someone at any given moment.  "If anyone is there could you like , stop." I had nothing else to say. I was hoping right then someone nice would just pop out and say: 'Oh I am so sorry. Did I scare you? Well I better get going'. But that didn't happen. "This isn't funny." I said expecting something to happen. But nothing happened. My grip on the shoe tightened when I heard mumbling. Now that I thought about it , I probably should've grabbed my wand instead of Judy's favorite high heel. Oops. It was too late now though due to the fact that I was paralyzed by the fear. I looked like an idiot standing on that bed and clinging to a shoe like my life depended on it. Which it did.

I panicked and chucked the shoe. I heard someone say 'Ow' and a few footsteps. Then , the door unlocked , opened , and closed leaving me confused.

I sat down in my bed again and decided to just go to sleep and pretend this never happened.
