Remus' point of view
Masie interlocked her fingers with mine as we walked toward the great hall for breakfast. It was Sirius' birthday and he ALWAYS got excited on his birthday. My hand tensed up at the feeling of Masie's cold small finger but eventually, I got used to it. Neither of us had ever dated before and I like to think that we liked it that way. It was last night that we decided we were 'together'. After taking in everything about Masie, I realized things I have never noticed about her. Like how she waves and smiles to everyone she knows that passes by and how cold her body temperature is. Every time she holds my hand it is like fire colliding with ice. I look down at Masie and smile , I don't know why I was so scared to ever ask her out.
"Me neither." She spoke up. I had almost forgotten, she can read my mind. I laughed and rolled my eyes.
We entered the Great Hall and sat down at the table. When we sat down, Nathan gave me a face I have never seen before , a face so intimidating I am surprised I didn't just fade into the thin air.
"It's called the eye," Masie said ,"I would recommend looking away."
"Does he not like me?"
"No," I heard the crunch of an apple ,"He's just testing you."
"Oh." A small boy that was also in Gryffindor walked up to Nathan's group and sat with them as if her were one of them. I didn't even notice that Sirius had showed up until I felt Masie's cold hand leave my warm one.
"Happy Birthday!" she exclaimed handing Sirius a poorly wrapped gift. Paper wrapping went everywhere as Sirius ripped open his gift , a strawberry cupcake with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles. The cupcake was tiny. So tiny you could eat it in one bite , which Sirius did.
"Just what I wanted," He began ,"You two as a couple." I laughed as did Masie, we laughed until we saw a very unhappy Dani.
"You don't look too well." I said referencing to Dani's obviously VERY mad face.
"It's too early to talk." Dani snapped.
"Sirius made her stay u all night to countdown to his birthday." Masie explained to me.
"So she's kind of tired?" I asked , hoping for an explanation.
"More like grumpy." Sirius cut in as Dani pulled his cereal out from under him.
