TRUST
"Miss the conference room is ready." my secretary Talia reminded me.
"Okay, I'll be there in a minute." I answered.
Hindi ko namalayan na nakatulala na pala ako dito sa office ko. I have a meeting with the board. Since I will be the next CEO of ZB Towers Philippines, my dad wants me to know everything. May alam naman na ako sa kompanya kasi simula bata pa lang ako, nakikita ko na kung paano patakbuhin ng mga magulang ko ito.
We have buildings here in the Philippines, Singapore, Europe and USA. ZB Towers offers hotels and condominiums. I will be handling Philippines and Singapore branches while my brother Zach handling Europe and USA. He lives in New York with his family.
Dalawa lang kaming magkapatid, ako yung bunso. My dad wants me to handle Philippines and Singapore kasi matanda na daw sila ni mommy at gusto na lang nila mag travel at mag enjoy.
Dalawa lang naman kaming magkapatid kaya wala din akong choice. Gusto ko din naman itong gagawin ko kasi, it's our business. Hindi din kaya ni Kuya na siya lang magpatakbo sa lahat, kaya hati kami. I am pursuing my degree in architecture also. After kong matapos yung Master's degree ko sa New York, ako na yung humawak sa mga new buildings ng ZB Towers. I also took up some business course for this.
"Are you okay, Miss? Pwede po nating I reschedule." -Talia
"I'm okay, Talia. Thank you. Maghahanda lang ako saglit and susunod na ako, tell dad and mom."
"Okay, Miss. Do you need anything?" -Talia
"No, thank you."
Tumunog yung cellphone ko habang nagreretouch ako.
Kuya's Calling...
"Hi my baby sister" –Kuya Zach
"Hello annoying brother"
He laughed at my response. "Chill Sidra, I just want to tell you that I believe in you, dad and mom believe in you also. We trust you Sids, we know that you can do it!"
"I'll do my best Kuya!"
"I will guide you, I am always here. Don't forget that." –Kuya Zach
"Yes, I know. Thank you."
"Anything for my baby sister." –Kuya Zach
"Gotta go now, kuya. Hinihintay na nila ako."
"Okay, good luck. I'll see you soon." –Kuya Zach
"How soon, kuya? Miss ko na mga pamangkin ko."
"Very soon." –Kuya Zach
"Alright! I will wait. Bye."
"Bye, Sids. I love you." –Kuya Zach
"I love you."
Pumunta na ako sa conference room, my secretary guided me to my chair.
Noong nakaupo na ako, my dad, starts the meeting.
"Good morning to all. Hindi na ako magpapaliguy-ligoy pa. I want you all to know that my daughter, Sidra will be handling the Philippines and Singapore branch of ZB Towers starting today. I expect you all to give her the same treatment you gave me and my wife." –Daddy
"Of course Samuel. Alam naman naming magaling itong si Sidra." –Mrs. Gonzaga, one of the board.
"Sidra, I know you can do this. I trust you." –Daddy
"Thank you, Daddy. Thank you, Mrs. Gonzaga. I'll promise you guys, I'll do my best. And this is our business, di ako gagawa ng mga bagay na makakasama dito. I hope for your cooperation's and understanding. I will still handle some of the architectural designs for ZB Towers, since nagustuhan niyo yung mga naging project ko dito with the team."
Nagpalakpakan ang mga tao dito sa conference room.
"That's all. I'm excited to work with you all. Please enjoy the little celebration. Good day, everyone. Enjoy the foods."
I am all smile. My mom and dad went to me first and congratulated me with a kiss. Everyone congratulated me. I am happy. I am excited to work here. I hope I will do well here.
