CHAPTER 13 - LUNCH?

Dumiretso na ako sa opisina ko pero bago pa man ako makapasok sa loob ehh tinawag ako nung secretary ni Cloud. "Miss Rain!"

Nilingon ko naman ito at nginitian, "Hi, Shyrile. Is there something wrong?"

"Nako, wala naman po, Miss Rain. I just like to inform you regarding po doon sa pagha-hire ng secretary...So...ahm...anu-ano po ba yung mga qualifications niyo???"

"Oh...That. Sure ka bang okay lang sa'yong asikasuhin ang pagha-hire ko ng bagong secretary???" Tanong ko sa kanya. Well, my position is way higher than her but truth be told, she's not under my power and she's someone's secretary so I believe I don't have the rights to pass to her this kind of work.

"Nako ma'am...Kahit hindi pa po ako utusan ni Sir Sylvana na tulungan kayo, I'd be willing po talaga..." Nakangiting sabi nito. Ramdam ko na mabait si Shyrile kaya naman I don't really have the guts na magsungit sa kanya. Sa modelling agency kasi, since I am the CEO, may pagka-masungit ako sa mga empleyado ko. I want them to obey me. I want to gain their respect. Sa past experiences ko kasi...which as far as I knew, aware kayo, doon ako sa kanila natuto.

"Thank you, Shyrile..." Ngumiti ako dito.

"So ma'am...about your qualifications..." Sabi nito.

"Can we talk about it in my office?" Sabi ko sa kanya.

"Ahh sige po... Oo nga po noh? Bakit ba tayo dito sa labas nagu-usap??? Haha." Natatawang sabi niya. Ang totoo niyan eh, masakit kasi sa paa ang tumayo ng matagal na sobrang taas ng heels. Hahaha kaya ko nga siya niyayaya sa loob eh nang makaupo naman.

Bago pa man kami makapasok sa opisina ko ehh nakita ko sila Ghem na tila papunta din sa opisina ni Cloud. "Mr. Sylvana," I called out. Lumingon naman ito sa akin. "May I borrow your secretary for a while? We just want to talk about my hiring with a new secretary."

"It's alright. Go ahead." Sabi nito at pumasok na kami sa loob.

"You know what, I would want my other secretary to be my secretary here, kaya lang hindi pwede eh...Kaylangan ko din kasi ng mata doon sa modelling agency ko. If you met her, I'm pretty sure the two of you would get along easily." Nakangiting sabi ko kay Shyrile.

"How did you even say that, Miss Rain? Haha." She flushed with my obvious compliment.

"Basta lang...Maybe you really both possess the attributes I would want with my secretary." I said. And she nodded. "So as for my qualifications, hm..."

"Sige po Miss Rain, I'll list them all down." Tapos kumuha siya ng papel doon sa folder na hawak niya kanina.

"Ahmm...Medyo mahigpit ako sa qualifications ha? So...Two-year experience in any work field; The ability to communicate and work well with people at all levels; attention to detail and a well-organized approach to work; the ability to work with numerical information, plus analytical and problem-solving skills; a diplomatic approach and the confidence to liaise with high-profile company staff and board members; integrity and discretion when handling confidential information; an interest in, and understanding of, business practices and corporate governance. So what else??? Kelangan, fluent in English din pala. I think that's all."

"Okay na po ba, Miss Rain?" Tanong nito nang matapos i-jot down lahat ng sinabi ko.

"Yes. Thank you. Ikaw nang bahala mag-filter sa kanila, please...And then send me options." Nakangiting sabi ko dito.

"Sige po, Miss Rain...I'll go ahead." Paalam nito at lumabas na.

Bago pa ako magsimula sa mga trabaho ko, I saw Ghem inside Cloud's office. There are times when they kiss each other...Tsk. Sabi na nga ba eh. Not a good view here. Mamaya nga, kakausapin ko si Gerald tungkol sa iha-hire kong organizer para sa office ko.

Tila hindi naman nila ako pinapansin kasi patuloy lang sila sa ginagawa nila. Tsk. Hindi ba sila aware na nakikita ko sila from this point? Tsk.

I search for my phone and when I found it, I texted Gerald.

To: Gerald;

Where are you? Didn't go to work?

Maya-maya ehh naka-receive na ako ng reply mula sa kanya.

From: Gerald;

Condo. Yes, sorry. I just really need to arrange stuff here in my unit.

Sabi na nga ba eh. Kaya nga nag-doubt ako kung papasok siya o hindi.

To: Gerald;

Makapagtrabaho na nga lang. After hours of work, I decided to shut my eyes close when I heard knocks on my door. "Come in."

I opened my eyes as I heard the opening and closing of the door. "Ghem? What are you doing here?"

"Inviting you for lunch? Nakita kita kanina...You went here so yeah, this is your office? Maganda ha... Although, I think this room needs some rearrangements..." Nakangiting sabi niya. Nakangiti siya pero ewan ko ba...May something sa kanya na hindi ko maintindihan. Yeah, she's quite friendly lalo na para imbitahan ako sa lunch, pero hindi ko talaga maintindihan yung intuitions ko against her.

"Rearrangements? I think so too. Actually, may plano na akong ipaayos itong office. I just needed to talk to my bestfriend para makausap yung organizer na kakilala niya." Then I smiled at her.

"So...what about lunch?" Nakangiti din ito sa akin tapos hinawi niya yung buhok niya na shoulder length ang haba.

"Ahh...Aren't you going with C---Mr. Sylvana?" Sa tingin ko ehh hindi naman pwedeng tawagin kong Cloud si Cloud. Baka sabihin feeling closed naman ako. Kaya Mr. Sylvana na lang para formal.

"Ohh...Of course, kasama siya. Gusto ko kasi magkakilala pa tayo ng maayos. Tayo nila Cloud. Ano, tara na, please? C'mon join us!" Ano pa nga bang magagawa ko?

"Ehh...Osige, pero may tatapusin lang ako saglit. Saan ba tayo magla-lunch? Just tell me the place tapos susunod ako." Sabi ko sa kanya.

Mas lumapad naman yung pagkakangiti niya, "Talaga? Yehey! Sa *insert restaurant name here* tayo! Dalian mo ah! Sige, una na kami!" At lumabas na siya. Hayy Rain, ano bang iniisip mo ha??? Bakit ka pumayag??? Pero wala naman siguro yun. Dapat ko nang sanayin yung sarili ko sa mga ganitong bagay. May magagawa ba ako kung sobrang friendly nito ni Ghem?
