The castle floated high above the ground, among the stars and whispy night clouds. Every window glowed yellow, giving the castle a heavenly glow. Beautiful flowers spilled over the sides, from the castles windows and balcony's. Two white marble columns stood opposite each other at the entrance to the castle court yard, which lead to the big doors of the castle itself. There was no gate, no fortress. There was no need. For this was the castle of the fairies, peaceful creatures, who had no reason to seal up their home, from invaders. There were no threats, to the nutral life. They interfered with no one and no one interfered with them. Until one night.

The Princess Fay, held her book close to her chest as she skipped back to her room with her ladies in waiting. It was her favourite book about two star crossed vampire lovers, written by a warlock. It was a very popular book in the castle since the Princess had expressed her fondness for it. All the other young lords and ladies had to read it after their beloved Princess had spoke so highly of it. The ladies who walked with her began to quote the famous lines.

"We thought all signs were telling us, we were not meant to be-" Began one.

"But the signs were false and we were wrong. I was meant to love you and the damned signs don't matter," Finished the other.

"Oh I love that one," Sighed Fay.

An other lady piped up, quoting an other line from the book.

"Justice will prevail-" And the other ladies joined in.

"IF THE RIGHT PEOPLE FIGHT FOR IT," They chanted.

Fay enjoyed this book as it was filled of things that she never experienced, or ever believed she would experience.  Battles and warriors. Love and despair. How people survived all the heartache in the world. Heartache she would never have to endure in her sheltered peaceful life. Although she longed for adventure, she was grateful for the fact that they never had to suffer the horror's of war.

As the girls approached Fay's room, they noticed rose petals sprinkled on the ground outside her door. Sitting on the petals was a small red velvet box and a letter. The ladies giggled and they all rushed over.

"You really are spoiled," Sighed one lady.

"I know. It's awful. I'm never told about these things and am late in giving a gift in return," Said Fay as she picked up the box and letter.

She chose the letter first, as no matter how beautiful the gift was, it could not compare to the words of her love.

With gentle fingers, she opened up the letter and read out loud.

"My dearest Fay,

Though there's no occasion,
To give you a pretty gift,
My love compels me to,
So I pray you will receive it.
You brightened up my world,
Since your love became mine,
So in turn I wanted to give you,
Something that would shine.
I love you ever second
And all the seasons passed.
I promise to love you everyday,
Up until my last.

My utter devotion,

Kai,"

She pressed the letter close to her heart and smiled brighter than the sun.

"Oh open the box," pleaded one of the ladies.

She held it out, so they could also see and opened it up. Inside sat a silver crescent moon, with diamonds along one side. She gasped at such a beautiful necklace and took it out. She held it up to see it twinkle in the candle light.

One of her ladies offered to put it on and she accepted. She pulled her hair to one side and allowed her to clip it closed. It feel onto her chest, in the little hollow between her collar bones.
"Come, I must ask father if I can go to town tomorrow to get Kai a gift," she said.

Picking up her dress as to stop it tripping her up, she ran in the direction of the throne room.

"Slow down Fay, we're not as fast as you," called out a lady mid laugh.

"Oh how can I slow down?" Called Fay.

She let her dress drop as she rushed into the throne room. She slowed down into a fast walk and quickly made her way up to her father.

The people of the court smiled to see their little princess in such a good mood. Her maids waited among the crowd as Fay ran up the steps to the throne.

He smiled to see his daughter so happy, as she sat down on the arm of his throne.

"Father look," she said lifting up the necklace.

Her father reached forward and let it sit on his finger tips.

"How lovely dear. Where did you get it? Kai?"

"-Kai," she said with him, smiling from ear to ear.

"What a beautiful gift. Whats the occasion?"

"There is none. Its just a token of affection. I was wondering if I could go into town tomorrow, to get Kai a gift in return?" She asked hopefully.

"Of course. Anything for you. I must say I am as content as a father could be, seeing you so happy. You are very lucky to have found someone who loves you so much. And kai is very lucky to have found someone like you too. You make a wonderful couple," he said smiling at his daughter.

She leaned and gave her father a kiss on the cheek to say thank you, when the front doors opened. Two guards in mud brown uniforms had pushed them open and two more walked in, with other people behind. Fay and her father were shocked at the intrusion and the crowd gasped.

"Who is it?" Asked her father sternly.

There was no answer. The guards and people behind, just kept walking up towards the throne. Once they reached the steps up to the throne, they stopped.

The two guards moved out of the way and servants rushed forward. They came up a few steps carrying boxes, but were stopped by the fairy guards. They knelt down opening the boxes. They held the boxes in front of themselves and bowed there heads. The boxes were filled with gold coins, jewels, beautiful gowns, fans, slippers, every kind of treasure a young lady could ask for.

Up stepped two men, elegantly dressed, one more than the other. One was wearing a simple black suit but the other was wearing a soldiers uniform, decorated with medals. The man in the black cleared his throat and began to speak.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the court, king Lucas and above all Princess Fay, our most gracious greetings. May I present to you, his majesty Alexander, king of demons,"
