The sensation of being pulled down, was similair to that of being drunk. Even my head was begining to spin. I could bearly walk in a straight line and my eye sight began to get blurly. It was not long before it became difficult to breath. The air around us was collapsing and taking us down with it. I tried my hardest to push forward, for Grace. I kept reminding myself of how the demons were trying to get to her before me, but no matter how much I pushed or motivated myself, I physically could not do it.
There was a slight shift in the air, which grew and grew. I began to feel weightless and float back up. Something was counter acting the pull down. My head became clearer, like I could breath again. I looked back at Red to see her floating off the stairs. The way she was suspended in the air, was like she was floating deep underwater, with her slow movements, hair flowing softly and her head hanging back. I thought she was unconscience until she pulled her head forward, and I saw her eyes wide open. They were glowing a sharp white colour. She pulled her eyebrows close together and shut her eyes in consentration. She tightened her hands into fists, bringing them slowly above her head, she opened her eyes and slammed her hands back down.
With that the weightless, underwater feeling vanished and so did the heavy gravity which was pulling us down. Red fell back down, but caught herself, instead of falling. I was curious as to what it was she had done, but it was not the time for questions. Picking myself back up off the now material steps, I began to run, following Red. It was easier to follow her in my wolf form, as I was more powerful and I could see clearly through the darkness. We rushed up several flights of stairs before we finally caught up with the demons.
They looked back over their shoulders and began to panic when they saw us. They must have thougt that the curse on the stairs would have been enough to stop us. They picked up speed and dissappeared around a corner, down a hall way. Red and I skidded around the sharp corner and followed them. As soon as we step foot down this hallway, there was a crack. We came to a stop and looked down to see a crack in the floor. Unsure of what to do, we began to follow, but the crack only grew. Taking a deep breath we braved this new curse and charged forward, the the crack grew right down to the end of the hallway and suddenly the whole building began to split in half. Our only way to the room the demons were now inside, had become a gaping trench, that appeared to be bottomless.
Amist the moaning of the building as it was beinv torn in half, came the cries of a baby. Grace. She was right there. After all this time, I almost had her. I looked to Red, who looked back at me. She thought for a moment and then seemed to have an idea.
"You'll have to be fast," she said and then shut her eyes once again in conventration.
She held out her arms and breathing deeply, slowly began to pull them together. It looked painful as she strained herself. The building stopped moving apart for a moment and then reluctantly began to close back up. It got closer and closer, until the trench was nearly gone. I took that chance to run and force my way into the room. It was completely dark in the room beside the beam of moonlight that came in from the open door. I was ready to save my daughter. There she was, and Ruby in the arms of demons. There was only two that I could see, where were the other two.
I howled in pain, as I felt a sharp pain in my left hip. I jumped back to see the other two demons, one with a knife burried inside of me. I did not waist a second to even think before pouncing forward, with the knife still in me, and snapping his neck between my teeth. Red finally joined me, and the second demon swung their knife at her too. She swiftly stepped out of the way and moving to the side. She then stepped back in, only to rip their head clean off. We looked back to the girls, only to find them gone.
My heart came to a stop and I froze, where as Red rushed forward and fell down into the far corned of the room. Only then did I notice the trap door. This must have been the room where Ruby died. She banged and punched the door, but it did not budge. The door behind us then suddenly slammed shut and we were in complete darkness. Although I saw nothing I could hear someone walking around.
