Fays ladies in waitin quickly came and pulled her away. Her father had stood from in throne in a rage. He demanded his council to assemble in his office that instant. Fay could feel the tears roll down her face and pure fear embrace her. The whole throne room was up in a frenzy with panic. She was pulled into the hallway by one of her smarter ladies in waiting. Edith. Her other ladies rushed about trying to find her but Edith managed to keep her away from the crowd. Fay was to shuck to ask questions so just followed. Edith was able to slip past the whole court without drawing any attention to either of them. Everyone was worried as to where Fay was, but Edith seemed to have something in mind. The further they ran, the less the could hear of the crowd. Fay suddenly stoped dead in her tracks and refused to run any further.

"I have to see kae," she whispered.

Edith shuck her head and placed a finger to her lips, instructing her to be quite. She went to run again but fay would not budge.

"I can't explain now. Please just trust me Princess," She pleaded.

The urgency in her voice was enough to convince Fay to follow her. The dashed through the corridors and towards the two big doors that led to the library. Edith stopped and looked over her shoulder to make sure they were  not being followed. She carefully and slowly pushed the door open and hurried Fay inside. Once both were in the library, Edith gently closed the door again. Fay went to turn on a gas light, but Edith stopped her.

"I don't trust those demons. If they know we're in here they might know what we're up to," Edith whispered.

"Edith I don't even know what we're up to and they're gone," Fay said.

"I'll explain in a moment and they're sneaky creatures. You can never be too careful. Come on," She said and rushed to the back of the library.

Edith clicked her fingers and a small yellow light appeared. Controlling the elements was one of a fairies many talents. It was too dim to stretch far across the room, so only illuminated a few inches in front of her. She trailed her finger along the books on a shelf and stopped when she got to one in particular. She shuck her hand and the light faded away. She reached out and pulled it down. She placed in on a table and indicated for Fay to follow her over. Fay stood next to her and watched as she flicked through he pages. She found what she was looking for and smiled triumphantly. She stood back and lifted her hands above her head. concentration very hard she lowered her hands and caused a bubble to grow around them. This bubble would prevent any noise getting in or out. When the bubble went right down to the floor, Edith opened her eyes and turned her attention back to the book.

"Alright Princess, how much do you love Kae?" Edith.

"With all my heart," Fay answered.

"Well then for their safety, you must stay away from them, do not even speak of them. Not until it's all over,"

"All over?"

"I have a plan. You're allowed to bring ten servants with you to the demon kingdom. I suggest you sneak Kae in that way. On your wedding night, make a break for it. You, Kae and the others. There is a portal into the human world not too far from the palace. It is much bigger than our world and the demon world. He won't find you there. Don't speak of or to kae until you know you are safe," She told her.

"But how will we find this portal?" Fay worried.

"I'll come and show you," Edith said.

"Edith, I cannot expect you to abandon all here for me," Fay inisited.

Edith grabbed onto her hands and looked right into her eyes.

"Princess. I am your lady in waiting. It is my duty to look after you. I have stuck by you your whole life. I am not going to abandon you in your hour of need," Edith said.

Fay felt her heart tighten.

"You're a true friend Edith. How shall I ever repay you?" She said.

"By not letting those bullies win. We'll refuse to give them what they want, without stooping to war," Edith proclaimed.

"You're right," Fay agreed.

"Now princess you wait in here. Stay hidden. I'll look for Kae and tell them the plan, but I don't want them finding you, before I find them. They need to know to stay away from you to if this is to work. I will pick the other 9 people. You just stay in here. I'll take care of everything. I won't be too long," Edith said and like that she was gone and Fay was left alone in the big, dark library, wishing Kae could hold her and make her feel safe again, but she knew better. It was for their own good that they stayed apart.

To pass the time, Fay wondered around the library until she found her favourite book about the vampire star crossed lovers. She sat on one of the chairs at the back away from view and opened it one page one. It depicted a dismal scene of hopelessness and vulnerability. It very much mirrored her own situation, but she knew this story all to well. She knew that through courage, intellect and strength, the hero's win. Reflecting on the massage of hope through darkness, Fay knew she would fight her hardest to get through this. Even is she had to abandon all she loved and who she was.
