It was getting darker by the minute. I followed Red through the crowded busy streets, trying my best to keep up with her. With each new street we turned down, the crowds got smaller and smaller until we barely came across anyone else. I followed Red down a dark little alley, full of bins and pipes with steam rushing out of them. Cat prowled around and stopped to watch us from window sills of derelict buildings. Red stopped suddenly and I almost bumped into her. She reached up and grabbed a hold of something. She gave a tug and there was the sharp shriek of metal sliding. There was a bang that echoed throughout the little alley, when the sliding stopped. It was a rusty ladder from a fire escape route for the apartments that were no longer used.

"Up we go," Said Red, as she began to climb the shaky ladder.

I waited until there was a little bit of distance between us, before I followed her up. She was as quick and agile as these alley cats as she shoot up without hesitation. She stepped onto the little metal balcony and waited for me. When I neared the top of the ladder, she reached down and offered me her hand. I took it and she helped me to my feet. She then began to climb the next set of ladders and I followed. We continued like this all the way to the top. When we reached the last one, I stood and waited to see what she planned to do next.

There was a window next to us and she turned to face it. She held onto the top of it and stepped onto d ledge. With a big powerful jump, she sprung up and grabbed onto the roof tiles that jutted out. She dangled there for a second. She swung and and foreword twice, before she let go and flew onto the roof. Once she was settled on the roof, and got down on one knee and looked down at me. I took it that she wanted me to do the same. Before, when I was human, such a task would have been impossible, despite the fact that I was quiet fit, being head cheerleader. But this was not just some cart wheel and I was not just some human. This was climbing up an old abandoned building and I was a werewolf, so best take advantage of my new abilities.

I grabbed the top of the window and hauled myself onto the ledge. With my supernatural strength, which I was more accustomed to, I jumped, letting go of the window and catching a hold of the roof tiles. Red reached down her hand and with my free hand which was dangling by my side, I took it. With one pull she lifted me right up onto the roof as though I weighted nothing. To be honest, her strength took me by surprise. When someone goes to lift you, you grow to expect then to brace themselves and struggle. Even Brison who was so strong, was affected by lifting heavy things, though just a little bit, but she did it like she was picking up a doll.

I steadied myself on to the roof, next to her. She waited a moment, until I was ready and then she stood right up. She walked up the slanted roof and sat down on the very top, with her legs swung around the other side in front of her. I slowly made my p next to her and sat beside her on the top. It over looked a little street, with dim yellow street lights. There was a hum of activity down below. Two men stood outside what I believed to be a little bar, smoking and chatting. They were wearing old jeans and white vest tops. Their clothes and skin was covered in splats of white paint. They must have just come here after work. The laughed between themselves and then throwing their ciggerates on the ground and stamping them out, they went back inside.

"You're quiet agile," Red said, as she looked down at the street beneath us.

"Thanks. I was  cheerleader all through high school, so I suppose I just learned," I told her.

"Do you miss being a cheerleader and high school?"

"To be honest, I do. I knew everyone and where everything was. It was a big part of my life and that's all gone now. Nothing is the same. I never saw myself in a position like this," I admitted.

"I bet that was because you didn't believe in werewolves," Red joked.

I let out a little laugh. She was right.
