The portal we passed through was unlike another portal I had ever passed. It was calmer then the other ones, which was odd, as it was causing quiet the stir outside. This was the deffenition of the eye of the storm. So still. It was pure, bright white. A tunnle. There was no sound but the loud echo of our footsteps. There seemed to be nothing for a while. No entrance, no exit, but we just kept walking forward. There was suddenly a small humming noise, much like a swarm of bees off in the distance. As we kept walking forward it grew louder and more violent, until it became clear that it was a vaccum.

A slight force began to pull us forward, which grew stronger and stronger. What happened next was much like falling asleep. You know so much more happened, but all you remember is waking up. One minute we were walking blindly through the portal and next we were out. The first thing I noticed was the sharp whisteling wind, that bit at my skin. It was freezing where ever we were. When I opened my eyes I saw it. The orphanage. It did not look how I expected it to. I always imagined childern running about, lights on in the windows.

It was obviously abandoned. The courtyard was over grown with weeds. Many of the windows were boardered up with rotting wood or smashed. The bigs gates at the front were swinging open, hanging off their hinges. Their creeks were more like howls as they moved in the wind. Even without the years of neglect, the building was terrorifing. I could not imagine childern living here. It was so isolated, out here in this dead, empty woods, in the middle of the night.

I looked to Red, who stood staring at the building with a vengence. She was the first to move and I followed. She pushed the loose gate forward and walked passed it. She held onto it for me, until I too was in the court yard. I would have said thank you, but I was speechless looking up at the horrid building. We slowly began to make our way across the court yard and up to the building. Despite the fact tha I was standing with Red, I was still terrorfied. I could never imagine childer living here it was so awful. No wonder Red was so ruthless, I thought.

As we walked across, I could feel my heart pounding up in my troath, chocking me. I heard the russle of dead leaves and nearly screamed in fright. I turned, thankfully to see nothing. I tried to calm my nerves, my rationing that it was just the wind, but my wolf senses were chewing at me, making it impossible to stay collected. Forcing myself to focus and turned my attention back to Red, the only comfort I had.

The first step into the building was the hardest, but once I was in, there was no going back. The entire building seemed to creek and moan, almost as if it was annoyed by our presence. Like it knew we were there. Red stood for a moment looking around, but after a deep breath and swallowing hard, she held up her head, pulled back her shoulders and focused. I stood next to her as she gently placed her foot on the first step to a rotten staircase. Everything was so still. Right up to that point.

The moans into the old building seemed to come alive and more human. Our surroundings were covered in darkness as any light vanished. I began to pant heavily, as I stumbled around in panic.

"Red!" I called out in distress.

"They cursed the fucking building!" She snapped.

"Can't we just use your fire to find our way?" I suggested, despreatly trying to stay calm, despite my heart hammering in my chest.

"You're right. It's only darkness," She agreed.

I felt a sharp stab of fear in my chest when, the moaning fell silent and from he darkness came a demented echo of laughter. It was not alone. There were many. And they surrounded us. Grace! She was in here and I was damned if I was letting them near her. I could feel my wolf rise up inside of me, like an active volcano about to erupt. Before I had the chance to transform, I felt someone next to me.

"Its me," whispered Red.

She felt around my arm, until she found my hand. I could feel her sliding something into it. Upon examing it, I could tell it was a knife.

"Don't transform until I say so," she instructed.

I did not need to respond for her to know I agreed. She was a sudden orange glow, and I could see fire radiating from Reds hands. It then became easier to see. She stood with her back against mine, as we braced ourselves for the attack. There then came a second, lone laugh, along with shuffling along the floor. I jumped, but Red remained perfectly still.

"Lucifer said, we're not to kill the babies....." said the voice.

"Not unless it was our only option,"

He just threatened my daughter! I knew he was trying to throw us off, but I could not help but want to bite his head off. After all he knew where they were and I did not. Red knew however. Neither Red nor I answered, we just waited.

"Who will get to them first," The voice echoed.

I starred off into the darkness, until their sickly pale face was right in mine, their wide eyes excited witb blood lust and their razor teeth exposed. Siliva dropped from their mouth as they pounced on me, knocking me to the ground.

From pure instinct, I swipped up the knife and stabbed them right in the eye. Blood squirted onto my face, into both my eyes and my mouth. I wiped my eyes and spat out what I could, until another demon jumped on me. Using every ounce of strenght I had, I struggled until I was on top. Lifting the knife above my head, I brought it down, with all my anger, driving it into their chest. I picked myself up and looked around to see Red ripping off head and head, occasionally shooting fire from her hands and scorching demons to ashes.

I noticed from the corner of my eye, three demons, rush for the stairs. They must have been rushing to the babies. As Red delt with her last demon, she turned around to also see the three demons dash up the stairs. She threw me a quick glance, blood splattered across her face and in her hair, her fangs fully exposed, red hot fire glowing from her hands and a blood lust in her eyes, stronger than the demons. Nothing was said, but I knew what to go. Allowing the transformation to course through my veins, I burst out of my human skin. With an unnaturak speed we took off, in pursuit, only for the gravity to shift and begin to swallow us, dragging us down, into what felt like he ebiss.
