Things got interesting after Red and Arrow came to school with us. Red had really managed to whip the nasty girls and rude jocks into shape. She was naturally selected as head cheerleader. And as for Arrow. He had more admirers than Brison ever did. To say that annoyed Red was an understatement. I took my book out of my locker, as I watch Arrow politely talk to a group of girls who were shamelessly flirting with him. He obviously knew, but he was too nice to be rude. Red was a different story. She appeared out of no where, behind Arrow, and made her ominous way over to them, like a storm. The girls got a little defensive,
"What's your problem?" Asked one of the girls.
"He's mine. Move along!" Was all she said. And that was all it took.
The girls looked at one an other and left. Arrow pulled her in by the waist and rested his forehead against hers. She was still fuming, but Arrow was beginning to work his charm on her and got her to calm down in a matter of seconds.
"Were you up a lot with Ruby last night?" He asked her quietly, pulling her in.
She melted into his embraces and calmed down.
"She wouldn't stop crying," Red sighed.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there," he said, kissing her forehead.
"Well do have a kingdom as well as a daughter," Red said.
Arrow was in the Vampire kingdom the night before, sorting out important issues and that left Red to care for Ruby by herself. She was physically and emotionally drained from the ordeal, but Arrow was there to take over as soon as he got back.
"Well I have to go. I'll see you later," She said, giving him a small kiss.
Red had always wanted to have a garden for her child. She thought it would be a nice idea for her and her daughter to do some bonding somewhere so pretty, so she decided to join the green schools committee and help with the greenhouse.
Red and Arrow parted ways and Arrow made his way over to Megan and I.
"Shall we go out to our table?" He asked.
"Sure," I answered.
Once we reached our table, we discovered that there were some boys from the football team and Sarah with her minions sitting there.
"Excuse me but we paid to reserve this table," Said Arrow.
"I've been in this school years more then you, you can't tell me what to do," Barked one of the boys.
"Well we paid, so I suggest you move," He said, rowing annoyed.
From across the way, I saw red, with a big bucket. She must have been bringing some supplies to the greenhouse. We caught her eye and at first she did not notice what was happening, but she snapped her head back to us in anger and shock. She sliced through the crowd and stood next to Arrow, who began to speak to her in vampire. Everyone probably thought it was just some European language and paid it no notice. When he was finished, Red turned to face the table.
"It's reserved," She said bluntly.
"Early bird catches the worm," Said the boy arrogantly as he turned his back to her and sat into the table.
Lifting the bucket up, she poured the contents all over him. Compost and worms covered the boy and he jumped in fright.
"There's your worms," She roared.
They all jumped up and began to scurry off. In one final out burst of annoyance, Red effortlessly flung the bucket at the boy and it bounced off his back.
"Idiots," She snapped.
"Thanks honey," Arrow said.
"No problem,"
"What are you going to do about the worms?" I asked.
"Not my problem anymore," She said dismissively.
"I'm gonna go learn how to plant flowers. Enjoy lunch," She said and wondered off.
Later in history, Red and Arrow whispered lowly to each other about political matters. I had to hand it to them, they were balancing all of this very well.
"Would you like to tell us the answer. You must know everything, seeing as you don't need to pay attention," Our teacher screamed at Red.
"Martin luther king Jr. was killed on April 4th 1968. And I know you haven't said it yet, but it was in Memphis, Tennessee," She said confidently.
Our teacher was lost for words. He fumbled about with his papers, muttering a well done. Red looked to us and whispered.
"We were in town, looking for a demon, when it happened," She told us.
The class continued on and Sarah was desperate to out do her. When our teacher asked the class, how he got involved in the civil rites movement, she was quick to answer.
"He was head on the NAACP and bailed Rosa parks out of jail," She said.
"That was actually Nixon," Said Red.
"No. Nixon was President," Sarah insisted.
"Not Richard Nixon, genius. Edgar Nixon. King was head of the Montgomery improvement association," She told her.
"Red's right Sarah," The teacher said.
She huffed in her seat and refused to say anything for the rest of the class. Red was actually the coolest person ever.
