The other fairies had been hiding behind the tree cover waiting for Edith Kae and Fay. They were deep in the woods, at the bottom of a mountain. Never before had they faced such dangers. They had all seen the demons. Even the one's like animals. They were terrorified. If they were caught by one of those savage demons they would probably be ripped apart, but if the gaurds caught them there was no telling what they would do. None of them spoke, for fear of being heard. Even the breathing silent, but no matter how hard they tried, they could not stop the trembling. Fear was pumping and unfarmiliar amount of adrenaline through their veins and they did not know how to cope with it.
When the three arrived, they did not stop running. The others simple shuck themselves and followed. They were glad to be finally moving. The sitting and waiting in the utter darkness was so intense, that they all clung onto one an other. They had all been selected by Edith as they were the fittest out of all the servants. At the time they were chosen, they did not know why, but now they understood. They panted hard as the raced up the mountain, not only from exhaustion, but from panic. They stumbled over their own feet, but were quick to get back up again. They knew what would happen if they fell behind.
The night had been completely silent for the other six fairies, besides the loud thumping of their hearts in their ears. The still night finally broke when they heard satanic laughs, futher down the mountain behind them. They were on to them. Edith remaines at the back of the group. She would deal with whatever caught up with them. She could hear the loud thuding behind her. This demon was getting closer. She was suddenly forced on to the ground as the demon pounced on her. Some of the fairies stopped and looked back at her.
"KEEP RUNNING," she screamed.
They did not know what to do and they trusted her, so they obeyed. Edith struggled against the demon and managed to turn around onto her back so she was facing them. She struggled, but managed to pull the knife out of her boot. The demon bite down into her shoulder. His teeth were almost about to break skin. With a grunt, Edith plunged the knife into the side of his neck. She wasited no time in pushing the demon off and getting up. It did not take her long to catch up with the others. They were almost at the portal.
There was an orange glow behind them. The gaurds must have been out with tourches looking for them. They were so close to them. If they stopped now, they would get caught. The portal was so too far a head. They were almost free. The portal was the opening of a cave. She did not tell the others, but as soon as you step in, for fall straight down and into the human realm. Then she saw it.
"This is it," she told them.
She did not care if they heard her anymore. They did not know about this portal and by the time they got to where they were, they would be gone. And to be extra sure one of them did not find it by accident, she planned to leave a protection bubble on it, like the on she used to speak to Fay. It would wear off after a few hours, but by then they would be deep within the human realm and they would not find them. They all stood on the edge of the portal.
"Quickly," rished Edith.
Fay and Kae held hands. Theg would be the first to go, as she was the Princess. Refusing to look afraid and hesitate, Fay walked right in, taking Kae with her. The rest followed quickly. They may have been intimadated by this unknown portal, but the demons frightened them more. Edith was the last to go. She pulled the bubble down over the entrance, behind her. Knowing that it was quit a fall, she took a deep breath and stepped in.
Back at the palace, Alexander paced around his throne room. He was so furious, he thought he was going to explode. He picked up a small table and flung it against the door. The table shattered sending splinters everywhere. Once the small explosion settled, the door opened slowly. In came one of his gaurds. The gaurd clicked his heels together and bowed. He the held the door open for the other gaurds, who came in dragging with them two warlocks and a cauldron.
