Today's issue –Hands down—I'm an expert in which is 'Body Image'. We all have this moment of doubting our bodies and looks; Who don't? Even models and dancers also doubt themselves, too. Last week I was reading an article on 'COSMOPOLITAN' about the lovely dancer 'Jojo Gomez' who also suffered from 'Body Image' issue and how you should look like. She said that in most of the auditions she went to, she receives those two comments that her butt wasn't big enough, or her stomach wasn't flat enough.
Through out my whole life I've always been curvy. A Pear-shaped body that I can't and won't change it really. On the other hand, most of my friends at school were skinny. Skinny is cool, but curvy is also cool-It's not a fight- yet I can't lie and tell you that I was so happy about my body and how I looked at that time of my life. My friends would call me 'F.A.T.' because I was different.
I remember at one of my P.E. classes that I left the girls' cheer-leading team, who were laughing at me, and joined the boy's football, soccer, game. The strange thing was that boys accepted me to play with them; hence I told them that I didn't know how to play. But, what caught my attention is that they actually accepted me. The lesson I've learnt form this situation was 'Girls/Women tend to put each other down', and it's obvious in movies like "Mean Girls".
The bright side of today's issue/story is that you don't have to change your body and how you look in order to please someone. In fact, if you are happy with your body that what matters the most. Yeah, it's so simple all you need to do is to accept your flaws and yourself as it is.
One last thing before you leave, I want you to remember that no matter what YOU. ARE. BEAUTIFUL.
