Kat's POV:

I heard someone else in my room with me but before I could panic, I recognized the scent as Ginny. My eyes blinked open as the light shined through the window, and I saw Ginny sitting in the chair by my bed reading a book with a bored expression on her face with Moonlight sitting on her shoulder. I never thought her to be the overly studious on a Saturday but I suppose it's because I didn't wake up this morning.

"What time is it?" (K)

"Kat? Oh you're awake, thank goodness. We were going to get McGonagall if you didn't wake by dinner. It's four in the afternoon on Saturday." (Gin)

"Great, just peachy. Do me a favor and hand me a blood pop?" (K)

"Of course. Here you go, Neville picked you up some more today in Hogsmeade too, just......just in case these next weeks aren't any better than the last two. How do you feel now anyway?" (Gin)

"Like I've been hit by the cruciatus curse a few hundred times and chained up to dry. How do I look?" (K)

I see her make a grimace both at my response and at my question. I nod in return while I eat the blood pop, knowing that even if all the cuts and bruises are gone I'll still look pretty bad off. Comes with not hunting on the full moon, as well as a lack of proper nutrition overall. Moonlight jumps off her shoulder and lays down next to me, knowing some how that I'm too sore for her to sit on me right now. I stroke her fur a bit earning a purr as I finish the blood pop, and to my surprise Ginny hands me a small potion and a vial of blood, both of which I know are from Madam Pomfrey.

"She gave them to us after breakfast, in case you needed it. She and McGonagall both saw how you were still absent from the staff table, but we told you were resting in your room. They were worried about you, all of us were." (Gin)

"I should have sent word with Nick to y'all directly I suppose. Or with the Baron if nothing else." (K)

"The Baron? The Bloody Baron you mean?" (Gin)

"Yeah, few hours before the Carrows came down, he had Peeves unlock the chains to give my muscles a rest. He was quite civil, just as he's always been with me." (K)

I saw her surprised expression before she seemed to shake it off and help me stand up from the bed. I smoothed George's letter out, before I put it in a small drawer on the writing desk. I glanced at the other unopened letters before I turned back to see Ginny looking away quickly. I have no doubt she's waiting to make sure I don't have a break down right now, especially with my track record, but I feel fine right now. Perhaps it's knowing that no matter how much I'm tortured I'll see George again in a few weeks, whereas last time I thought I would never see him again.

"Kat, McGonagall wanted to talk to you once you were awake. If you don't want to go now we can wait for a while longer." (Gin)

"No Gin, it's fine. We should better go now and save Minnie from any more worry right now." (K)

She nods in agreement with me as we make our way out the door and into the common room. I hear the few students in here say hello and I do my best to return it with a smile, smelling the relief mingled with fear as we walk through. It's only as we're walking down the corridor that I realize I'm still vamped out. I wonder how long that'll take before I can unvamp, my body seems to answer me in a sharp pain rushing through as we walk. The answer it seems is quite a while, again that's just great.

We arrive at McGonagall's door and I hear her talking to someone inside, and within moments I realize it's Madam Pomfrey. I sigh in relief before turning to Ginny and see her staring at me with question. I realize then that she can't hear either of them, and I mentally thank my enhanced hearing for a moment.
