Chapter 67

George's POV:

I watched as Kitty's eyes filled with fear and I gently put Roxanne back in her carrier before I grabbed Kitty into my arms and held her against my chest. I heard her take a shaky breath before she pulled away from me a bit and I see the familiar and determined fire in her eyes that I've seen many, many times before.

"What happened?" (K)

"She tripped down the stairs this afternoon and went into labor early. She's fine but the baby girl......well they're treating her at St. Mungo's right now. She was only born a month or so too early so the Healers weren't too worried but you need to go there now and try to calm Scarlett down." (G)

"Dmitri, who's keeping him right now?" (K)

"Andromeda has him but will be sending both him and Teddy over here for the night. She's hoping to keep him distracted so he doesn't find out. Vik was the one to come tell me at the shop an hour ago, he's with Donovan right now. But Scar, well she's blaming herself. She wouldn't let Donovan in to see her, wouldn't let anyone in. He's hoping she'll let you in." (G)

Kat's POV:

I gave a short nod, hoping the same thing as I summoned a small cloak from upstairs before turning back towards George. I saw the worry in his eyes still as I prepared to leave and head straight to St. Mungo's and I know my eyes match his as we worry for our friends and their child.

"Bed time at 9, and I mean 9 Georgie, for all of them. Make sure Roxanne gets her bottle at 7, and make sure you feed the boys a good meal. If you can't see if mum wouldn't mind coming over and helping you cook. Thank you for telling me Georgie." (K)

"Kitty, if it wasn't for Scarlett, we might not have made it in the long run while at Hogwarts. She's just as much a friend to me as she is to you. I love you, be safe love." (G)

I smiled at him as best as I could while offering a short nod, before leaning up and kissing him. I pull away sooner than either of us would have liked but I have to get to Scar right now. A few moments later I'm walking down the hallway of St. Mungo to Room 934. What I find outside does not give me much hope for what I may find inside. Donovan is sitting outside with his head in his hands and I can hear his crying as I get nearer, Vik sitting next to him with his hand on his back. I saw Vik nod in welcome to me but he stayed seated next to Donovan for the time being.

"Donovan." (K)

I expected him to stiffen and attempt to wipe away the tears from his eyes before he looked up at me, but he didn't care that I saw him crying. He was a man that was distraught in the way that his child was in danger medically right now and his wife wouldn't speak to him. Tears mattered little to him.

"Kat, tank you vor coming. She vill not let me in, I've begged er, vut she vill not listen. Please, please. She vust let me talk to er. You are the only vone she vight listen too." (Don)

"I'll do my best, but go be with your daughter now if they'll let you. I'll send my patronus to you both if I have any luck with her, or we'll come find you." (K)

I saw him hesitate before looking at the closed door and back to me, slowly nodding as another few tears fell down his face. I was sincerely grateful that Andromeda had Dmitri with her so he wouldn't see all this happening around him. I waited for Donovan's and Viktor's steps to disappear down the hallway before I turned towards Scar's door. I didn't knock, not giving her the option to say no to me asking to come in, rather I just walked in.

"Leave me alone." (Scar)

"Not on your life Scar." (K)

"Kat, just......just leave! I don't want you here!" (Scar)
