Kat's POV:

I know they left exactly forty minutes ago but I don't know what's taking them so long. I was pacing outside with Ted Tonks when I heard the shouting. I didn't dare cross the protection barrier knowing it could open it up to attacks from the outside, but I heard the spells being shouted. Then I heard his voice.....Voldemort's shout of anger as he chased after Harry and Hagrid. I looked at Ted and knew instantly that he couldn't hear them at all.

"They're almost here. I can hear them. Get the medical supplies ready!" (K)

"What why?!?" (T)

"That's why!" (K)

I pointed towards the falling figure that I knew at an instant was Hagrid. I cast a slowing spell on Hagrid's falling figure, wincing when he still hits the ground with a terrible impact. A few seconds later, before I even had time to run up or cast another slowing spell, I saw Harry crash the motorbike into the pond a few feet away. I watched shell-shocked for a moment as Harry crawled toward Hagrid, and I'm left wondering how he survived. I force myself to run towards the pair as I hear the Tonks behind me.

"Who's there? Is it Potter? Are you Harry Potter?" (T)

"They've crashed, Ted! Crashed in the garden!" (A)

"Hagrid." (H)

"Harry! Harry it's me Katherine. Hagrid's alive, he'll be fine just keep your eyes open Harry! Harry!" (K)

I watch as he collapses into my arms and I vamp out as I half carry him, half drag him into the house. I smell the blood seeping through his t-shirt as I lay him down on the soda. Ted starts to mend him and look after him before I return to look after Hagrid with Andromeda. A few minutes later, Hagrid is awake and I feel a sigh of relief as I walk back into the house, un-vamping as I go. I walk in to find Harry trying to sit up, looking better but a little worse for wear as they say. The sigh of relief dies on my lips as soon as I hear the conversation though, they were attacked when they left Harry's house.

"Death Eaters? What d'you mean, Death Eaters? I though they didn't know you were being moved tonight. I thought-" (T)

"They knew." (H)

"George?" (K)

I see Harry snap his eyes to mine in surprise for a second before nodding his head and opening his mouth only for no words to come out. He looks at me again with a worried look before looking away from me and towards the ceiling. I feel a sense of dread wash over me as I realize that George could be.......may not come home.

I find myself pacing the floor and soon find myself outside taking deep breaths as I try to calm myself and the tears that want to overflow.  Irun my hands through my hair as I calm my frantic breathing, sending up a brief prayer for my husband and all our friends that were out there tonight. I force myself to walk back inside just as they're talking about the portkey.

"The Portkey's through here. It's supposed to leave in three minutes, if you want to take it." (T)

"Yeah we do. I....I'll tell Tonks-Dora- to send word, when she....Thanks for patching us up, thanks for everything." (H)

"There you go, son. That's the Portkey." (T)

"Kat are you coming with us?" (H)

I can do nothing but give them both a shakey nod as I place a finger on the hairbrush. I look back at both of the Tonks and feel a sudden kinship with them as our fears are exactly the same. Our loved ones may not be as alright as Harry and Hagrid are right now. I feel my face pale some as we are whisked away suddenly by the hairbrush, landing a bit roughly onto the front porch of the Burrow.

I hear their muffled screams from inside before they come rushing outside to greet us, Ginny and Mrs. Weasley. But if I remember correctly, there are at least two other groups that should have made it here before ours. I hold my breath as I hear Mrs. Weasley question Harry, and I find myself facing the same worry that she has now.

"Harry? You are the real Harry? What happened? Where are the others?" (Mrs. W)

I feel my heart plummet further into my chest as Harry tells her what happened and Ginny tells us who was supposed to be back by now. Ron, Tonks, Mr. Weasley and Fred. None of them reached their portkey in time. George and Remus are supposed to be back next, and I start to fear for them as well. I start pacing in the yard as Mrs. Weasley brings Hagrid some brandy, all of us waiting for the arrival of the portkey.

"Mum!" (Gin.)

I turn towards Ginny to see her pointing towards a faint blue glowing light, watching as it begins to grow larger. I let out a slow breath as I see the figures of Remus and George come into place, but then I realize that Remus is holding George up. I start panicking, straining my ears to hear his heartbeat, but not being any more relaxed when I do hear it because I can smell the blood, his blood.

I follow swiftly behind them into the Burrow and as the light catches his head I see the amount of blood that is covering his face. I watch shell-shocked as Harry and Remus carry him further into the Burrow, laying him down on the sofa in the living room.

It was there in the soft glow of the living room that I saw the complete damage down to my George, to my husband. His left ear was missing and he was drenched in blood because of it. I start to go towards him before someone grabs my arm and starts pulling me away from him. I vamp out in anger as I turn to hiss at the person, seeing Remus give a nod of his head as he lets go of me after hissing at him. I feel my knees collapse in front of George as Mrs. Weasley starts tending to his wound.

I hear Remus drag Harry into the kitchen and as he checks to make sure Harry is the real Harry. I realize now why he made a move to stop me at first. I had thought he was worried about how I would react around the blood but that isn't the real reason. If I hadn't of vamped out I could have been an imposter. But vamped out I can't because that isn't technically human, same as Hagrid. After a few minutes of them arguing they come back into the living room.

I feel tears run down my face as I stare at my husband who has a soft look of pain on his face. I gently stroke the uninjured side, watching as his face leans into my hand almost on instinct. I watch as Mrs. Weasley keeps tending to the wound and I'm faced wondering what happened to my love tonight. I start whispering words of love as I stare at his handsome face, all the while waiting for him to open his eyes.

George's POV:

I saw a spurt of red light head towards me  just before I felt pain on the left side of my head, almost as if I had been sucker punched and then cut with a box cutter. I heard Remus shouting but his voice grew fainter and fainter as I felt myself start falling, though whether it was off the broom or only in my mind I'm not sure.

The next thing that I could focus on was when I heard Kitty's voice whispering things to me everyone once and a while, I also heard Mum's almost silent whimpering. I felt pain on my head again, near my ear, then I swear I felt her hand on my face. I leaned toward Kitty's hand on my face, as her fingers danced gently across it before I settled back into silence.
