Chapter 50

Kat's POV:

I looked to Minnie before nodding and telling her I had Order members to see to, earning a sharp nod from her before she turned back to Luna and Harry. I vamped out again, knowing that it would be a long night. I sped through the corridors, up the stairs, and past the students that were being brought down to the Great Hall as I rushed into the Room of Requirement. I believe that Harry and Luna will be along in a few moments, but I couldn't wait that long before I saw him again.

I know what could happen tonight, but I'll be damned if I lose him. I glanced around the room and wasn't surprised to see even more new faces, including Katie Bell and Oliver Wood. As well as Angelina standing next to Fred, and Alicia next to Lee. Bill, Fleur, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, and Remus. My heart ached at the thought of who might be lost in the battle tonight, but my eyes zoned in on him as I rushed into his waiting arms.

"Katherine, news?" (Remus)

"Harry and Luna are on their way, they'll need to ....SCAR?!?" (K)

I didn't have time to finish my sentence as I saw Scar burst through the tunnel, followed quickly by Aleric, Michael, and John. I left George's arms as I was pulled into a hug by her and then each of the vampires. I noticed that most of the students gave them a wide berth, while some looked curious. I can only hope they give us an edge with the Death Eaters.

"Scar, what are you doing here? Where.......where is Donovan and Dmitri?" (K)

"I.....I told him the battle wasn't happening until next week. I made him visit Vik with Dmitri tonight. I couldn't tell him, I was going to lose him if he came. I saw him die, I couldn't let that happen." (S)

"I understand Scar, but why didn't you go with him?" (K)

"I can't let you fight without me, you're my best friend Kat." (S)

I watched as both of us smiled as tears built in our eyes before we hugged each other again tightly, knowing that we both would have done the same thing if positions were reversed. I looked to Aleric and the O'Larry twins and got another three smiles to comfort me. I was going to say something but before I could Harry and Luna suddenly rushed into the room, the surprise evident on Harry's face. I saw Remus spot him almost as soon as I did before Harry rushed over to us.

"Harry, what's happening?" (Remus)

"Voldemort's on his way, they're barricading the school—Snape's run for it—What are you doing here? How did you know?" (H)

"We sent messages to the rest of Dumbledore's Army. You couldn't expect everyone to miss the fun, Harry, and the D.A. let the Order of the Phoenix know, and it all kind of snowballed." (F)

"What's first Harry? What's going on?" (G)

"They're evacuating the younger kids and everyone's meeting in the Great Hall to get organized. We're fighting." (H)

For a moment you could have heard a pin drop of the wings of a fly beat as it flew across the room, then that silence was shattered by the roar and yells as the students made to rush out of the room and towards the Great Hall.

"Come on Luna!" (Dean)

"WAIT! Dean! Come here, I have a wand you can use. It was one of the Carrows, Minnie gave it to me in case but I only need one wand." (K)

"Thanks Kat!" (Dean)

"Kat, we'll meet you down there. Come on guys!" (Scar)

I watched as Dean and Lune left the room, followed by Scar and the three vampires that I've come to count as family. The rest of the students that had been hiding here trickle out of the room as well, until the only people left were Remus, Harry, and the Weasleys. I sighed as I heard the argument between Ginny and Mrs. Weasley, knowing full well that I didn't want to get in between them. Fred however seems not to worry about jumping in.
