The night was dark, but that didn't render the march to make delay. The demons work best at these conditions. Even though I'm not as good as the demons when it comes to the dark, but I have Selare to help me. We didn't bring torches for we plan to make this invasion a surprise. We can't risk getting caught by the enemy scouts. We took the route through the forests in order to hide our presence.

The Demon King started the invasion that is supposed to start till next month because of an opportunity where the Kingdom of Serdin's northwest gate's defense is at its lowest. There will be an arrival celebration at the kingdom's southwest gate in 2 days. We are marching to reach the northwest before that.

"Put it right there. Perfect! Now the tent's done." Selare as we try to fix our tent.

After 20 hours of travelling, we arrived at a forest to set up our camp. The Demons also need to rest after all.

We didn't walk all the way to the northwest. There where mamoths and other battle mounts that we used for to get here. Some of them are weird cryptid creatures too.

We are about 2 miles from the northwest gate. We stopped by to replenish our stamina from all that travelling.

The celebration will start in 19 hours. That would be about 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. There's still plenty of time to get ready. I thought of doing some practicing but Selare told me that that wouldn't be a good thing to do when we're about to go to war. She told me that it would be better battle rested than tired.

But I can't just sit by idly at the camp. Selare didn't command me not to train but, I suppose it's reasonable to follow what she just said. Left with nothing to do, I just took a stroll to explore around the camp. We are at a large open field at the center of the forest. The demons are all getting ready for the war. They remind me of the ants the way they work hard together.

While taking the stroll, I didn't notice that I've already walked so far away from the camp. I guess I better head back before I get my self lost in this forest.

I tried to go back to the camp by following the path that I took, but it's been about 30 minutes since I started going back.

What the hell is happening?

My legs are getting tired from all this walking. Am I going back in circles? There's only one way to find out. I tried to scrape a bark off from an old tree to mark it.

After that, I tried to go back to the camp again and

What the hell!?

It's the same old tree that I left a mark on. I am going around in this forest in circles. How do I get out of this? I tried climbing up a tree to get a view of the place but it seems that I'm surrounded by trees. I can't find an open field where are camp was set up.

I tried heading north hoping that I'll get to the mountain that I saw when I was above the tree but I ended up circling back to the old tree I marked off. Damn it!

*Gushi gushi*

A rustle from the bushes. I did a defensive stance as soon as I heard it. I'm expecting a wild animal to come out and pounce at me. Even though I'm unequipped with a weapon I'm confident that with my stats enough I could kill a wild boar barehanded.

"Ow!" a blonde girl pops out of the bushes.

She was holing her waist trying to ease some pain. She wears a plain villager's black shirt, blue short skirt, and shoes with white knee socks. And then she looks at me.

"PLEASE! YOU GOTTA HELP ME!" She cries and jumps at me. It caused me to lose my footing and lose my balance. I fell on the ground and she's on top of me.
