Chapter 20: Hydra

Drakar PoV

"What the F*ck!?" Drakar surprised after getting a good look on the huge monster.

Our party was divided into two. Blonde and I got seperated after getting clamped and fell over the bridge. Luckily, she thinks fast and manages to break our fall.

With the light coming from the glowing crystals, we finally got to see what this huge creature really looks like. And it is not good.

*RRAAAAA!!! Ggrrrlr" The monster roared loud then growled.

The monster that stands before us was about four times bigger than us and has a body covered in hard scales that resembles the texture of a dragon. It has three long necks and attached to it are the heads that also looks like a dragon. All looked identical to each other.

"That's a Hy-"

"It's a Hydra." Scarlet cut me.

Shoot! I almost said 'Hydra'. If I had said that, she would know that I have knowledge about these kinds of mythological creatures. Back in the real world, Hydras were mostly known because of the greek stories.

I'm still trying to keep it a secret. Just like her, I was also summoned from a different world.

"A Hydra?" I said playing dumb.

She nodded then said "Yes. Hydras were very well known in my world. They are characterized as a three headed dragon. But, If you cut one of the heads, a two new heads would grow back from its body. The more you cut the more it grows back. It's like trying to kill it would only cause you more trouble."

"I see. Then we better be careful." I said then faced the Hydra.

The Hydra's heads were just wondering all around. Until it stopped after it turned to look our way.

"Get back." Scarlet as she stepped in front of me and does a defensive stance.

Of course. Like always, Blondie always steps right in to protect me. Well that was what she is supposed to do. After all, she is the hero. I cracked a grin.

It kind of sucks though. I haven't been able to do any action for a quite a long while. Plus I feel like continuously being protected by a skinny girl degrades me as a man. But oh well. I shrugged. At least I would not have to do the tiresome work of saving my own *ss. 

"Just make sure you don't try to cut off it's head." I warned as I moved back.

The middle head of the Hydra narrows it's look onto Blondie as it's neck slowly stretches, like a snake haunting it's prey. The sight was like David and Goliath. Blondie was not wearing any armor and that kind of made her look like she's holding a toothpick instead of a sword.

The closer it gets the bigger it looks. The more frightening it is.

I noticed that Blondie's legs were somewhat shaking.

The hydra's head backs away a little, then opens it's mouth, revealing it's large fangs.

I got a bad feeling about this.

Then the hydra's head quickly launches to strike at Blondie. She tried to move but her legs won't budge. I reacted beforehand and pulled her out of there. The Hydra missed and hit it's head on the ground right from were Blondie was standing just a second ago.

She landed on the ground and drops her sword. I managed to throw her this far away. Good thing that I used to train back at the Demon Lair. One inch or one second later she could've been hit with a direct attack, considering the size of that Hydra.

I went to her saying "Hey Blondie! Are you alright?". I looked at her and she's completely past out and unconscious.

"Sh*t!" I hissed.
