Chapter 12: Childhood Friend

3rd person PoV

Selare wipes the tears from her eyes using the back of her palm. Demon Lord Mosough was at his last breath but he managed to pull off  a last skill, Flame of Destruction. The skill deals a huge amount damage with a large projectile AoE, but a skill that strong requires a huge amount of mana that even though he is a level 90 Demon Lord it will require 90% of his mana. But thanks to Mosough's skill, 75% of the castle was completely destroyed.

The Demons and castle guards are fighting at the ruined castle. Selare noticed that more guards that are in horses are coming. This time, she saw the armored girl coming too.

"Its the armored girl who was able use the Holy Sword."

Selare gritted her teeth the moment she saw the armored girl. She is the reason why they failed in raiding the small village near the Kingdom, and the reason why Demon Lord Korsal's tongue was removed.

Selare's blood boiled and was ready to charge at the armored girl at any moment, but she also noticed that the Demons that are fighting are getting beat up since the arrival of the kingdom's reinforcements. I Better not do anything reckless, she thought to herself.

Suddenly, she felt the ground slightly shaking, slowly getting stronger. She turned around to see what is happening.

"Demon Lord Korsal!"

Selare felt relieved to see her former Lord. Demon Lord Korsal was the raid leader from the first raid of Drakar.

Charging in front of Korsal is a wave of Demons heading straight to the castle's direction.

The guards that were able to wipe out the last Mosough's minions saw another wave of Demons coming. Their leader commanded gritted his teeth after realizing that they are completely out numbered.

"Everyone! Find anyone you can save and evacuate immediately!" The Knight commanded and the guards followed.

Selare joins the wave of the Demons as she charges her way at the ruined castle. The Demons screeched as they got closer. And they noticed that the guards are starting to evacuate in their horses. But also Selare saw Drakar getting a piggyback from the Knight, then mounts at a horse.

Selare hasted to follow Drakar but there are a lot of obstacles that blocked her path. She kept on going from side to side and it slowed her down until Drakar is completely out of her sight.

The Demons celebrated to see the guards leaving. This means that they have completely conquered the Kingdom of Serdin. But Selare can't celebrate fully without Drakar.

"Demon Lord Korsal! Mosough is... gone." She said the last word looking down.

Selare is currently reporting to Demon Lord Korsal about what happened during the battle. After they conquered the Kingdom, the Demons started to build tents to set out a camp at the castle grounds.

"Grrgh." Korsal growls.

Korsal was able to speak before but not now, he lost during the raid and as punishment from the Demon King, his tongue was cut. And now he is unable to speak, not to mention taste.

Selare can see from Korsals expression that his mourning for Mosough's death. They were both Lords who served the Demons.

"Also, the destined hero Drakar got abducted by the enemy." Selare added.

Korsal wanted to tell Selare to not worry and that we'll come save Drakar as soon as we can. But he only patted Selare's head hoping that she'll understand. Selare didn't understand but somehow it calmed her down a little.
